Glee - I think I have a new favorite show!

Thank goodness for being able to watch full TV episodes online! I missed the first episode of Glee on Fox TV, but I was able to just catch it online on Fox.

It was totally fun! I think I might have a new favorite show! Check it out if you get a chance!

We're enjoying our weekend. Our local park district has Woofstock today, and we're going to enter Princess in the Frisbee competition! Hopefully we can throw the Frisbee well enough for her to be the superstar that she is! Wish us luck! Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

I'm an Ali Edwards giveaway WINNER!

I am SO excited! I won a giveaway on Ali Edward's blog! Totally cool!

I won an awesome kit from Ali called Soda Fountain from Studio Calico! I am on cloud nine! I'm so excited! I visit Ali's blog very often, but I normally don't comment. Yesterday she asked for advice for a beginning scrapbooker, so I left some advice. Today, my awesome blogging bud Chris called me to tell me that I won on Ali's blog! I hadn't gotten around to blog hopping yet, so I had no idea! Woohoo! I'm so excited! Thank you Ali!

Happiness

I got some cool stamps at the rubber stamp flea market on Saturday, and yesterday, I inked a couple of them up.

I need to work on getting crisp, clear images with the very large background stamps, so if you have any advice on how to do that, please leave a comment and let me know! However, this "distressed" look worked for me. I cut the image down to fit on my card as my card front. I then stamped the "delightful" stamp on a scrap of patterned paper and cut it out using my large circle punch. I added some ribbon, a Prima, and a button that I sewed on. I also used one of my Sakura glaze pens to add some flower centers to the stamped background stamp. This is just a quick, easy, and simple card.

I hope you have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Scrapping Recipe Challenge #50 & ScrapCity Peachy Cheap Reveal

This is a multi-purpose layout today! It is my LAST Sketches! {by Tamara} layout, and it showcases my wonderful Peachy Cheap goodies that were sent for the Creative Team at ScrapCity!

First off, I want to thank Tamara for having me on her team! The Sketches! {by Tamara} site was my very first design team! I started off on her card team, and then I became a recipe challenge team member! I've loved every single minute of it! Thanks Tamara! Next, I want to thank the most awesome Brooke over at Peachy Cheap! She is sponsoring ScrapCity this month, and she sent the Creative Team at ScrapCity the most fantastic goodies to work with! I've used a lot of it, and I still have so much left! Thank you Brooke!

This layout is for Scrapping Recipe Challenge #50 where we were to use the following on our cards or layouts:
  • hardware
  • notebook paper
  • dry embossing

The hardware on my layout is the American Crafts photo anchors that Brooke from Peachy Cheap sent to the ScrapCity Creative Team. The notebook paper is from a Making Memories journaling notebook, and the dry embossing is a Cuttlebug embossed sheet of Prima paper. I used other Peachy Cheap products that I've purchased on this layout (I told you, I'm a very good customer!) The patterned paper is My Mind's Eye, the flower is by Petaloo, and the journaling card at the bottom is by Fancy Pants, and I got all of those items from Peachy Cheap! The layout also features Daisy D's rub ons and American Crafts ribbon which were provided to the ScrapCity Creative Team! You can click on the layout to see it larger.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. We enjoyed the long weekend very much. Happy Tuesday, and thanks for stopping by!

Memorial Day Weekend Update

I hope you're having a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! We are having a great time!

Jessica and Dave set the all-time world record for consecutive catches with the Trac-Ball. They caught 21 in a row! Way to go guys!

I met my girlfriend Kathy for the rubber stamp flea market, and this is what I got. Take a look at what $27 buys! I got FOUR Stampin' Up sets! Two of them, I've never even seen before! I got an organization container for the girls for $1, and I got FOUR Copic markers for $1 each. They are brand new, so I just couldn't resist. I feel like I've gone over to the dark side! I'm curious about them, so I just had to buy them! I'm not sure what I'll be able to color with the selection that I purchased, but I'm sure I'll figure something out! I'm actually glad she had just the four! Who knows what would have happened if she had more! Anyway, I love what I purchased, and I'm thrilled with the bargains! I can't wait to play with my new stamps!!

I hope you're having a fantastic weekend! It's beautiful outside here in Illinois. We still have the parade tomorrow! If you live in the United States, please take the time tomorrow to acknowledge the meaning of Memorial Day! Have a great day, a fantastic weekend, and thanks for stopping by!

School Bus Driver Card

Regina at The Cutting Cafe' is always hard at work creating awesome printable stamps! Here is the latest, which I needed TODAY! I just finished making this card, I picked up the girls, and it's been hand delivered to their band bus driver!

I used the School Bus Driver Printable Stamp Set at The Cutting Cafe'. It's just perfect for end of the school year thank you cards! I used all Cosmo Cricket Get Happy papers and twill. I love the way I was able to print "World's Best Bus Driver" within the patterned paper circle! Cool, huh? I added some silver brad hubcaps to the bus! I also added a cute Prima with a Making Memories brad center. I love the way this turned out! It's funky and cool, because it's from two Junior High School students! You can click on the card to see it larger.

I hope you're having a great Friday! Have a nice long holiday weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Father's Day Cards

Regina is always very busy over at The Cutting Cafe', plus she really keeps me on top of things! I already have two Father's Day cards made! I made these for my dad and for Dave's dad!

The sentiments on these cards come from the Huge Father's Day Circle Printable Stamp Set. I also used the wonderful Circle Shaped Card. I used two sentiments on the front of the cards, and I also used an additional sentiment on the inside of the card.

I used gorgeous double-sided My Mind's Eye papers. I had a sheet with crowns on it, so I thought it was appropriate to detail cut the crowns, and add them to the top of a sentiment. Both of our dads are kings, right? Of course they are!

I hope you have a wonderful day, and thanks for stopping by!

May Peachy Cheap Reveal for ScrapCity!

We have a wonderful, fantastic, spectacular sponsor at ScrapCity this month! It's Peachy Cheap! Peachy Cheap has a deal a day, and once it's gone, it's gone! I am a very good customer, because I LOVE getting a great bargain! Brooke owns Peachy Cheap, and she is the nicest lady!

So, this is one project that I made with the spectacular goodies that Brooke sent for the Creative Team at ScrapCity. She sent very cool Daisy D's rub ons (they are wonderful rub ons!), beautiful American Crafts ribbon, and awesome American Crafts photo anchors. I used all of the items on a layout about ME! I love the way this turned out. I added Making Memories scallop paper, Making Memories notebook journaling papers, Cosmo Cricket Hey Sugar patterned paper, a couple of Primas, two gorgeous Making Memories brads, and some rhinestones. You can click on the layout to see it larger. FUN!

These are the fantastic goodies that I got to work with. I'll be creating more projects this week! ScrapCity has a fantastic Peachy Cheap PRIZE package for the random winner of the May Challenges. Scrapping Recipe Challenge #49

This is my layout for Scrapping Recipe Challenge #49 at Sketches! {by Tamara}.

This week, we were to use the following on our card or layout:
  • chipboard
  • buttons
  • flowers

This page is ALSO for the May Quote Challenge over at ScrapCity! Wendy challenged us to create a page with "Spring Fever" as our inspiration! For my layout, I used some gorgeous new Prima paper from the Sasha Collection. I scrapped three spring photos that I took last year. I love my lilac bushes! They are on the side of our house. The other two bushes are by our front door. One day, we had a yellow Eastern goldfinch right on our kitchen windowsill. I ran and got the camera so that I could get a photo of the beautiful bird! The photo is surprisingly clear considering that I shot it through the screen and window! I did some cutaway work on the paper so that I could tuck photos behind the pretty design. I added two gorgeous Primas, two beautiful Making Memories buttons, some rhinestones, and the title is Lil' Davis chipboard that I've had for a long time. Very easy page, but I really like the way it turned out! You can click on it to see it larger.

I hope you have a wonderful day! We are having some amazing weather. Just gorgeous! I love weather in the lower 70's! It's nice to actually have spring! Sometimes I feel like we go directly from winter to summer. Enjoy your day, and thanks for stopping by!

I have a giveaway to tell you about! My ScrapCity friends started a new blog, and they are featuring cool Etsy shops. Plus, Wendy and Nessa recently started their own Etsy shops. In the process of setting up their Etsy shops, they ran across work that they love, and that's where Etsy Expo comes into play. Their Etsy Expo blog will showcase some awesome talent!

So, today, they have an amazing giveaway! You have to check it out on their Etsy Expo blog! Good luck!

love

This is my very first layout using Webster's Pages, and it certainly will not be my last!

I got a wonderful kit at Paper Popsicles that featured papers from Webster's Pages A Sweet Life collection. There is also a very cool site called inspireME where you can share you Webster's Pages layouts. This is my first one, and I'm entering it into a "use your backsides" challenge. Instead of using the front of the double-sided papers, they challenged you to use the backside. The backsides worked really well for this photo of my girls! I love the way this turned out! I did a lot of detail cutting. I added some gorgeous Kaiser pearls to the tree portion of the layout, and I added a rhinestone eye to the detail cut bird. I also used some of the words that were on the cutaway strip at the bottom of the papers. I used "beautiful", "best life", and "a sweet life". You can click on the layout to see it larger.

I hope you're having a wonderful day! Enjoy your weekend, and thanks for stopping by!

Journaling Tag Swap

I usually don't do swaps, because basically I'm lazy (hee hee!), but there is a journaling tag swap going on at Paper Popsicles, so I decided to participate. I figured a journaling tag would be fun to make, and even better to receive! This is what I made for the swap.

I'm really hoping everyone who is participating has a school page to scrapbook! I was totally inspired to do a school journaling tag! I used library pockets, an index card for the front, cool school brads, and Primas that have letters on them! I even created a tag for the inside of the pocket.

Here's what the inside tag looks like. The paper is from a sticky note pad that I got at Target a long time ago. I split it so that I could use "notes" as a tab, and the rest of the sheet is on the front. What do you think? I love the way they turned out!

Happy Friday! I am very excited about sleeping in a little tomorrow! I hope you have a fantastic Friday and an excellent weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks So Much

Paper Popsicles is carrying some new and exclusive digital images in the online store. In order to promote these new items, Melissa sent anyone who was interested a couple of free images to play around with. I created this card using the bouquet image. Isn't it fun? I used colored pencils and gamsol to color the image. I also used three different My Mind's Eye patterned papers. I really love printable images! You already know that I'm a huge fan of The Cutting Cafe', and having digital images and storing them on your computer is so easy! You just use them when you want. FUN!

It's raining a lot today. It's going to be gloomy all day long. Why is it that the weather has such an impact on my mood? I need sun on a daily basis, or I just feel "off". Oh well! I hope you have a wonderful day, and thanks for stopping by!

Scrapping Recipe Challenge #48

This is my layout for Scrapping Recipe Challenge #48 at Sketches! {by Tamara}.

The recipe this week was issued by ME, and it consisted of the following:
  • red
  • round
  • ric rac

I used My Mind's Eye paper, My Mind's Eye journaling spots, Love Elsie epoxy stickers, and Making Memories tiny alphas, button, and sentiment ticket. I cut the large round shapes on my Expression. The ric rac is from my stash. This is just a fun page that features a photo that the girls and I emailed to Dave when he was out of town on business! You can click on the photo to see it larger.

I hope you have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Wonderful Mother's Day!

Hi Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day! I know I did!

Here are the gorgeous cards that I received. The card on the left was made by Jessica. She saw a sunflower in a Lowe's magazine, and she designed her card after the photograph. When she presented the card to me, all of the petals were clustered together, and tied with a ribbon. It was only after untying the ribbon, that I was able to see the "I heart U" message inside! Clever, creative, and wonderful! I am so impressed!! On the right side, the top card is from Dave, the middle card is from Emily, and the bottom one is from Princess. Emily generously made the card for Princess! I love each and every one of them very much! I'm totally impressed with the time, effort, and love that went into creating these for me! I love my family! They are the BEST!

This was Princess yesterday giving me her "throw my ball" look. Isn't she funny?!

What can I say? I love these girls with all of my heart! I am the luckiest mom in the world! They make me so happy, and it is an honor and a privilege to be their mom!!
This is the best Mother's Day gift ever! I didn't help mow the lawn. At all! BEST MOTHER'S DAY gift ever! I really hate cutting the grass!! Thanks Dave!!

This is too cute. It was Jessica's job to make sure that Dave had a drink when he needed one. He would be silly and cough from his thirst, and she would run to bring him his drink! Adorable!

I had a very nice, relaxing, and wonderful Mother's Day with my family! I hope you did too! Thanks for stopping by!

Falling For Fun!

Better late than never . . . right? I think so! My goal with the 52 Sketches site is to do ALL of the sketches. Well, I need to get caught up on four of them, and this is the first one towards that goal! This is based on Sketch #15 at 52 Sketches . . . 52 Weeks.

I used gorgeous Chelsea's Place papers and a button on this layout! That button is way too cool! The background sheet has the leaves design in a clear raised subtle epoxy (not sure what you would call it), and it's so delicate and pretty. Click on the layout to see it larger, and you can see what I mean! The photos are mounted on another patterned sheet, and that sheet is doubled sided. I did the leaf and stem detail cutting (on the lower left of the large photo) from the opposite side of that same doubled-sided sheet. I then added some Prima flowers and leaves, a few rhinestones, a computer generated title, some ink distressing, and I was done. I love this!

HAPPY FRIDAY! I hope you have a wonderful day! As always, thanks for stopping by!

Scrapping Recipe Challenge #47

This is my layout for Scrapping Recipe Challenge #47 at Sketches! {by Tamara}.

This week, we were challenged to use the following three items on our card or layout:
  • pink
  • a butterfly
  • glitter

No problem! Once again, I used my new favorite product line . . . Just Chillin' by Making Memories. The photo corners, the tag, and the butterfly are glitter die cuts from this product line. The "cool" title is glitter Thickers. The small alphabet stickers are also by Making Memories. I also added a Petaloo flower with a glitter brad. This layout is also based on a sketch at Paper Popsicles. You can click on the layout to see it larger. I love the way this page turned out! I really love the photos on this layout!!

Blog Candy!

My awesome blogging friend, Lesli at Dragonfly Time is giving away some incredible blog candy for the 45,000 hits on her blog! Check it out!!

Happy Mother's Day - We Love You

I don't know when Regina at The Cutting Cafe' finds time to sleep! She is always creating more fabulous printable stamps and cutting files! I created a Mother's Day card for my mother-in-law using the new Happy Mother's Day huge circle set.

Now, this huge circle is actually sized to perfection to go on the Circle Shaped Card. However, I decided to feature it on a square card instead. It looks wonderful! I used Colorbok patterned paper and chipboard pieces. I added a rhinestone trio, and that's it! The card is done! I think it looks great, and I think my mother-in-law will really like it!

I didn't realize it had been so long since I posted something crafty! I've been so busy lately with the girls' activities and with things around the house. The weather is finally beautiful, and with that comes my most dreaded spring /summer chore . . . cutting the grass! I've only done it twice this year, and already I'm dreading the rest of the time that I need to do it! Yuck! Anyway, I hope you've been doing well. Happy Monday, and thanks for stopping by!
