I Found You!

I created a card using my wonderful Sassafras Hog Heaven paper! I love this paper!

I just love the one little blue guy on this sheet of paper! I decided to create a card featuring him! I thought of the sentiment, "I am lucky because I found YOU!", and I decided it was perfect! I created the scallop circle with my Nestabilities. The sentiment is done with Making Memories tiny alpha stickers, and the "YOU!" is Sassafras. I just love the way this turned out! I think it's adorable and sweet!

I hope you have a great day. Thanks for stopping by!

So Sorry

I needed a sympathy card for a blogging friend, and this is what I came up with.

I used Websters Pages papers and ruffled ribbon trim. I detail cut leaves to put under the sentiment that I stamped with my Karen Foster snap stamps. I added a Kaiser red pearl trio. I also added a Petaloo flower with a hand sewn button.

I hope you have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Have a Wicked Birthday

The Paper Crafts Gallery Idol Top 20 was announced yesterday. I'm not one of them, but happily, one of my very best blogging friends IS! Chris made an amazing card, and she is IN the Top 20! Congratulations Chris! I am so excited for you, and I will be cheering you on during the next round! Below is the card that I submitted for the Gallery Idol contest.

The call was for birthday cards, so I made an extreme birthday card! I really wanted to use some Basic Grey Obscure, and this is what I came up with! I did a ton of sewing on the card, and I kept switching the stitches. I love the way that looks! I used a funky fiber and bunched that up and sewed over it. I also used a couple of die cuts from the Obscure kit, I ink distressed everything, and I added the evil rhinestone eyes to the skull. The skull is also popped up from the card. I added a black brad trio, and smashed the brads with my Tim Holtz texture hammer. The sentiment is distressed tiny Making Memories alpha stickers.

Here is a close up of the skull. Pretty wicked! You can click on both photos to see them larger.

I hope you have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Celebrate the 4th of July

Here's another 4th of July page using the awesome printable images from The Cutting Cafe'. I used both the Happy 4th of July circular sentiment and the "Celebrate" from the 4th of July printable stamp set 1. Regina also has a special going on right now! If you purchase the 4th of July set 1 or set 2, you get the background stamp set for FREE! Check it out!

This layout also uses a sketch that was posted for one of the monthly challenges over at Paper Popsicles. I used Cosmo Cricket Halfway Cafe papers, American Crafts ribbon, buttons, and black paint for distressing.

I hope you have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

4th of July Parade

Two posts in one day! Woohoo! I finally got a chance to work with some NEW printable images from The Cutting Cafe'. I love how well they worked with my layout!

You need to click on the layout to see it larger, but the background blue sheet is covered with an amazing 4th of July Background Printable Stamp from The Cutting Cafe'. It's HUGE and perfect for my layout! I also used THREE printable stamps from the Two 4th of July Printable Stamp Sets. The "4th of July" in my title, the "Happy 4th of July" circle, and the circular photo frame are all from this set! For the photo frame, I used the 4th of July circular calendar, and I just cut out the 2009 calendar with my Coluzzle since these photos are from 2006! It makes a great photo frame, doesn't it? On this layout, I also have Sassafras patterned cardstock, Karen Foster patriotic brads, Thickers, a My Mind's Eye blue star, a QuicKutz photo corner, rhinestones, and awesome large blue ric rac. I'm thrilled with the way this page turned out!!

I hope you're having a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday Cards!

I created some FUN cards with Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday! I love the Vintage Images on the Girl Friday Elements sheet! They are so fun to work with!

This woman looks like she's up to no good! She's my kind of girl! I wanted to use a sassy quote to go along with her, and I found the perfect Mae West quote! I love this card!

I also love the diamond ring image. Would this be a great engagement card? Once again, I used a quote. This one is from a song that Marilyn Monroe sang in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes"!

This rotary dial telephone is too cute! I thought of the Blondie "Call Me" song, and I had my quote! It's perfect for this wonderful vintage image!

Well, I created all three of these for a Valentine's Day card publication call, and none of them were selected! That's OK, I love them very much, and I had fun creating them!! I hope you're having a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Red Ball

Over at Paper Popsicles, we recently played a telephone operator game. We started with an inspiration layout, and the next person had to use something on that layout as inspiration, and then the next person had to use the 2nd layout as inspiration, and so on, and so on, etc.

So, I was the first person in the game, and I received the inspiration layout. The layout I received was monochromatic blue, it had a two word title, a single photo, and it was basically designed like the "red ball" layout that I created! I took this photo of Princess, and it just cracked me up that her red ball was in the photo with her. She's such a silly dog! I used Cosmo Cricket papers, Lil' Davis chipboard letters, Thickers, ribbon from my stash, a Prima, some buttons, and I even stamped a Making Memories foam stamp flourish under the corner of the photo. Fun layout to make, and it was fun letting another layout inspire me!

I hope you have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

I'm Back!!

Hi Everyone! We are back from Arizona! Until I get settled back in and back into some sort of routine, I thought I would share just one photo with you!

This is the only photo I have of the four of us from our trip! We took this at a stopping point on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. It's Jessica, me, Emily, and my MIL Vicky. We had a wonderful time on our vacation. If you ever get a chance to visit the Grand Canyon, don't think twice about it, just DO IT! Truly amazing! Just gorgeous everywhere you look! Photos truly do NOT do it justice!

I'll post more when I get a chance! Until then, thanks for stopping by!

Blog Candy Alert!

My wonderful blogging friend Catherine has posted some wonderful blog candy! Check it out when you get a chance!! Goodies galore!

On Vacation!

I'll see you June 17th!

Swim

There's a new challenge site called Scrap and Stamp Saturday. They have their first summer sketch challenge posted TODAY, and I wanted to participate, so I made this layout very quickly!

The first challenge: the theme for the layout is summer - anything summer you want to do as long as (a) you use the sketch and (b) you use two stamps somewhere on your layout! Well, I rotated the sketch since my three photos were all horizontal, and I used three stamps in the bottom right corner. The butterfly and the "fabulous" box are Pink Paislee, and the "Girls just wanna have fun!" is CTMH. The papers and border stickers are all My Mind's Eye, and the title is Heidi Swapp chipboard. I also added a silk Prima and a Making Memories button. So, what do you think? Not bad for a half hour layout, huh? Fun challenge!! It's kinda gloomy here, so my photo isn't the best, but you can click on the layout to see it larger!

The girls and I are leaving in a couple of hours for our Arizona vacation. I'll see you on June 17th. Thanks for stopping by!

Teacher's Bind It All Book

Emily and I worked on this Bind It All book this week for her teacher who is retiring. Each page features a personal note from a student in her 8th and 9th period Language Arts class. Emily designed everything, and she had my help putting it all together.

This is the cover. It features a My Mind's Eye Daily Dose journaling card with Making Memories tiny alphas. There are also two Petaloo flowers with a Making Memories button center. The gorgeous paper is also My Mind's Eye. Some of the ribbons are American Crafts.

The inside cover features a couple of sentiments from an upcoming retirement set of printable images from The Cutting Cafe'.

This is the first page in the book. Emily typed up the information, and we printed it directly on the My Mind's Eye patterned paper. The circular sentiment is a cardstock sticker from my stash.

This is the inside of the last page. This is another sentiment from the upcoming retirement set of printable images from The Cutting Cafe'.

I love this sentiment! This is also from that retirement set at The Cutting Cafe'. This is on the backside of the last page of the book.

This is inside the back cover. Once again, an awesome retirement sentiment from The Cutting Cafe'. Hopefully this is true for Emily's teacher! Retirement is such a milestone, and I hope she enjoys her free time! Emily did a great job with this book, and I hope her teacher LOVES it! How could she not? It's gorgeous!

Have a wonderful day, and thanks for stopping by!

Blog Card . . . Again!

Did you ever notice that if you have a bunch of paper scraps out on your desk, sometimes it's just easier to make another card rather than putting them all away? That's what I did. I made another blog card! This card features two sentiments from the 23-sentiment Blog Set over at The Cutting Cafe'.

I cut the larger sentiment with one of my rectangle scallop Nestabilities, and the other was cut out using my Coluzzle. I cut it twice to make a ring, and I put a small Prima in the center. The flower center is a little epoxy/metal embellishment, and it says, "hi". I added some rhinestones, and that's it. Another fun, colorful card!

I hope you have a great day. Thanks for stopping by!

Glee - I think I have a new favorite show!

It was totally fun! I think I might have a new favorite show! Check it out if you get a chance!

We're enjoying our weekend. Our local park district has Woofstock today, and we're going to enter Princess in the Frisbee competition! Hopefully we can throw the Frisbee well enough for her to be the superstar that she is! Wish us luck! Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

I'm an Ali Edwards giveaway WINNER!

I am SO excited! I won a giveaway on Ali Edward's blog! Totally cool!

I won an awesome kit from Ali called Soda Fountain from Studio Calico! I am on cloud nine! I'm so excited! I visit Ali's blog very often, but I normally don't comment. Yesterday she asked for advice for a beginning scrapbooker, so I left some advice. Today, my awesome blogging bud Chris called me to tell me that I won on Ali's blog! I hadn't gotten around to blog hopping yet, so I had no idea! Woohoo! I'm so excited! Thank you Ali!

Happiness

I got some cool stamps at the rubber stamp flea market on Saturday, and yesterday, I inked a couple of them up.

I need to work on getting crisp, clear images with the very large background stamps, so if you have any advice on how to do that, please leave a comment and let me know! However, this "distressed" look worked for me. I cut the image down to fit on my card as my card front. I then stamped the "delightful" stamp on a scrap of patterned paper and cut it out using my large circle punch. I added some ribbon, a Prima, and a button that I sewed on. I also used one of my Sakura glaze pens to add some flower centers to the stamped background stamp. This is just a quick, easy, and simple card.

I hope you have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Scrapping Recipe Challenge #50 & ScrapCity Peachy Cheap Reveal

This is a multi-purpose layout today! It is my LAST Sketches! {by Tamara} layout, and it showcases my wonderful Peachy Cheap goodies that were sent for the Creative Team at ScrapCity!

First off, I want to thank Tamara for having me on her team! The Sketches! {by Tamara} site was my very first design team! I started off on her card team, and then I became a recipe challenge team member! I've loved every single minute of it! Thanks Tamara! Next, I want to thank the most awesome Brooke over at Peachy Cheap! She is sponsoring ScrapCity this month, and she sent the Creative Team at ScrapCity the most fantastic goodies to work with! I've used a lot of it, and I still have so much left! Thank you Brooke!

This layout is for Scrapping Recipe Challenge #50 where we were to use the following on our cards or layouts:
  • hardware
  • notebook paper
  • dry embossing

The hardware on my layout is the American Crafts photo anchors that Brooke from Peachy Cheap sent to the ScrapCity Creative Team. The notebook paper is from a Making Memories journaling notebook, and the dry embossing is a Cuttlebug embossed sheet of Prima paper. I used other Peachy Cheap products that I've purchased on this layout (I told you, I'm a very good customer!) The patterned paper is My Mind's Eye, the flower is by Petaloo, and the journaling card at the bottom is by Fancy Pants, and I got all of those items from Peachy Cheap! The layout also features Daisy D's rub ons and American Crafts ribbon which were provided to the ScrapCity Creative Team! You can click on the layout to see it larger.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. We enjoyed the long weekend very much. Happy Tuesday, and thanks for stopping by!

Memorial Day Weekend Update

I hope you're having a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! We are having a great time!

Jessica and Dave set the all-time world record for consecutive catches with the Trac-Ball. They caught 21 in a row! Way to go guys!

I met my girlfriend Kathy for the rubber stamp flea market, and this is what I got. Take a look at what $27 buys! I got FOUR Stampin' Up sets! Two of them, I've never even seen before! I got an organization container for the girls for $1, and I got FOUR Copic markers for $1 each. They are brand new, so I just couldn't resist. I feel like I've gone over to the dark side! I'm curious about them, so I just had to buy them! I'm not sure what I'll be able to color with the selection that I purchased, but I'm sure I'll figure something out! I'm actually glad she had just the four! Who knows what would have happened if she had more! Anyway, I love what I purchased, and I'm thrilled with the bargains! I can't wait to play with my new stamps!!

I hope you're having a fantastic weekend! It's beautiful outside here in Illinois. We still have the parade tomorrow! If you live in the United States, please take the time tomorrow to acknowledge the meaning of Memorial Day! Have a great day, a fantastic weekend, and thanks for stopping by!
