Imagination

I did this page for a sketch challenge at Paper Popsicles, and I have to admit that I'm not too sure that I like the way it turned out! It's not the way I imagined it!! However, like Edna in the Incredibles says, "I never look back, darling! It distracts from the now." Love that movie! Anyway, I just think these photos are so silly, and it represents my girls' vivid imaginations! Who knows why they decided to put paper eyebrows, moustaches, and goatees on their faces, and it is pretty funny! They're two silly girls!

I hope you're having a great day. Thanks for stopping by!

Scrapping Recipe Challenge #46

This is my layout for Scrapping Recipe Challenge #46 at Sketches! {by Tamara}.

This week, we were challenged to use the following three items on our cards or layouts:
  • Stitching, real or faux
  • rub-ons
  • a winged thing (bird, butterfly, fairy, etc.)

I used Scenic Route Laurel papers, flowers, alphabet stickers, and ribbon. I used DCWV rub ons for my stitching. I also added a chipboard piece with a bird as my flower center. I journaled on the computer and I used my Coluzzle to cut the circle. You can click on the layout to see it larger.

Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Fabulous

Regina has done it again! Over at The Cutting Cafe', there is a NEW Chunky Praise Phrases printable stamp set available. The sentiment on this card is totally fabulous, and it's from this new set!

On this card, I also stamped with a blossom from my ornamental pear tree! To stamp with a real flower is a current challenge over at Paper Popsicles! I have to admit, I thought it wouldn't turn out, but I stamped with the same flower three times, and the results are above! Isn't is fabulous? (Sorry, couldn't resist!) The papers are all from an awesome We R Memory Keepers Tiffany paper pad that I recently got at Michael's. The papers are fabulous! (Yes, I know, I just can't help myself!) The ribbon is by American Crafts, and I added some rhinestones. I'm loving this card! You can click on it to see it larger.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Sketch #16 - 52 Sketches . . . 52 Weeks

YES! I got a sketch at 52 Sketches . . . 52 Weeks done on time! Way to go! I love the way this turned out! This is based on Sketch #16.

This page is very funny . . . Dave actually took a photo of the three of us girls when we came out of the bathroom in Orlando airport. It was the FIRST thing we needed to do IMMEDIATELY upon arriving in Orlando! My husband is used to waiting for us A LOT! It cracked me up that he was ready to snap our photo! I couldn't resist adding the "go!" This is a lot of Making Memories Passport! I got a bunch of awesome Passport goodies from Kelly at the Paper Crafts site when I won the "name the editor" contest! It's the 2nd page in our Disney album!! I also added some stitching under the photo! It's a current challenge over at Paper Popsicles! You can click on the layout to see it larger. I love the way this turned out!

I hope you have a GREAT weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

You Rock - 2 Sketches 4 You

I love these Just Chillin' papers! I also used two of the Just Chillin' glitter die cuts. Isn't that owl cute? I added a stamped sentiment to the label glitter die cut. The two ribbons are both by Basic Grey. You can click on the card to see it larger. I love all of the color on this card!

Scrapping Recipe Challenge #45 and Sketch #14 at 52 Sketches

This is a multi-purpose layout! It's my Scrapping Recipe Challenge #45 at Sketches! {by Tamara}, and it's based on Sketch #14 at 52 Sketches . . . 52 Weeks. PLUS, I got to use my NEW Making Memories Just Chillin' girl papers and glitter die cuts!! I am in LOVE with this paper! This is my new all-time favorite layout!!

The recipe this week was to use the following on our cards or layouts:
  • ribbon
  • patterned paper
  • include an image of something that flies

I used two ribbons from Making Memories. One is Chelsea's Place and the other is Boho Chic. The patterned paper is all Just Chillin'. I just LOVE this paper! (Sorry, I know I already said that!) I also added a couple of glitter die cut butterflies. You can click on the layout to see it larger. The title is glitter chipboard Thickers. You can click on the layout to see it larger. I really do love these faces!!

I am off to chaperone a field trip. It's so cold and rainy today, and yet the forecast is that it might hit 80 by the end of the week. That's Chicagoland weather for you! Crazy! I hope you have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Mother's Day Card

Regina at The Cutting Cafe' has created an AMAZING All About Mom set of printable stamps. It's huge, and it's NOT just for Mother's Day. If you need to make a card for your mom at any time during the year, for whatever reason, this set is for YOU! Plus, if you purchase the huge MOM set before Tuesday night, April 21st, at midnight, you can get TWO other sets at The Cutting Cafe' for FREE! That's a bargain!! Check it out on The Cutting Cafe' site!

I had some fun with creative cutting on this card! I took a circular sentiment and cut it twice with my Coluzzle to create a ring. I then cut two slits in another sentiment so that I could have the ringed sentiment go through the other sentiment. It turned out great! The larger sentiment was cut out with a Nestabilities scallop rectangle. The papers and chipboard swirl are by Colorbok. To finish it off, I added a Prima flower stack that is secured with a Making Memories rhinestone brad. I love this, and more importantly, my mom will too! I need to get working on my mother-in-law's card next!

Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Hi Everyone!!

Hi! I'm back! Well, we didn't go anywhere during spring break, but I also wasn't updating my blog. The girls are back to school today, and let me tell you, getting up as early as we do was a little rough. However, it's just back to the routine for us.

One of my wonderful blogging friends, Carole, presented me with this award. Carole is multi-talented! She makes the cutest cards, and she also creates amazing sewing projects! She's a sweetheart, and her blog makes me smile too! I'm thrilled that she thought of me when giving out this award! Thank you Carole!

Well, I have nothing crafty to show you, but I will be posting an awesome layout tomorrow. I need to get back in the groove, and get things done around the house, and hopefully I'll be able to squeeze in some crafting time. I hope you have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Scrapping Recipe Challenge #44

This is my layout for Scrapping Recipe Challenge #44 at Sketches! {by Tamara}.

The items that needed to be used on our cards or layouts were:
  • a repeating pattern
  • numbers
  • a one-word title

Fun challenge! I used my NEW Sassafras Hog Heaven papers! I love them!! I was so excited when I saw the paper pad at Michael's! The title is Thickers. I added a Petaloo flower with a Making Memories brad. The journaling cards are from My Mind's Eye and Fancy Pants. The buttons are from my stash. I just think this layout is so FUN! I love the decorative scallop trims on the bottom of each sheet of paper! Genius! I've used two of them on this layout! You can click on the layout to see it larger. And, yes, the subject matter on this page is, in fact, VERY spoiled!

I'm still taking a little bit of a blogging break this week. I'm spending spring break time with my girls. The weather is very gloomy, but it might get better at the end of the week. We're not doing anything too exciting, but spending time together is always fun! Have a great week, and thanks for stopping by!

Stationery Box Set

I decided to get a head start on Mother's Day, and I made this for my mom. This is the Stationery Box from The Cutting Cafe', and I added five Monograms to the cover. I really LOVE the way this turned out!

Instead of using the Monograms individually, I used five of them to spell out "CARDS" for the top of the Stationery Box. For the box, I used the lid with the circle cut, and I adhered very thin plastic to the inside for the window. The ribbon just slips right off. Inside the box, there are four cards for my mom to use!

Here are the first two cards. They match the inside design of the box. I used two images from the All Occasion Circle Word Set 1 also from The Cutting Cafe'. They are matted on Nestabilities scallop circles.

The other two cards match the box design. On the first card, I used a circular sentiment from the All Occasion Circle Word Set 1. On the second card, I used a sentiment from the A - Z Is For Set. Both of these sets of printable stamps are available at The Cutting Cafe'. Be sure to stop by The Cutting Cafe' to check out all of the fantastic printable stamps AND cutting files that Regina creates! You will be amazed! My mom is going to LOVE this gift! I can't wait to give it to her!! You can click on all of the images to see them larger.

Thanks for stopping by!

Scrapping Recipe Challenge #43

This is my layout for Scrapping Recipe Challenge #43 at Sketches {by Tamara}.

For this recipe, we were to use the following on our cards or layouts:

  • stitching
  • brads
  • a flower cut from patterned paper

As soon as I saw that we needed to use a flower cut from patterned paper, I realized that I needed to finish the 2nd page of a two-page layout. Don't ask me why, but I did the first page almost a year ago, and I never finished the 2nd page!!

This is the first page that I did last April!

Here are the two pages together! I trimmed the first page a little on the sides, and I mounted both pages on blue cardstock. For the stitching, I added three cross stitches to both pages. I also added a trio of heart brads to the 2nd page. The title is QuicKutz, the stamps are by Autumn Leaves, and I added a bunch of red rhinestones. You can click on the pages to see them larger. I think this is a very cute two-page layout, and I'm glad I finally finished it!!

I'm off to vote today, and I'm also going to the dentist for a cleaning. Hopefully, I'll be in and out at the dentist!! I hope you have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!!

Tag, I'm It!

Tricia tagged me! I need to show you the 7th photo in my 7th folder. Here it is. I just took it yesterday when the girls and I took Princess for a walk. Aren't they cute? Click on the photo to see if larger. Princess is giving Jessica a kiss!! I've done this tag before, but I think it's so fun, so I'm doing it again! I'm not going to tag anyone though. If you would like to display the 7th photo from your 7th photo folder, please do! It's fun!

I hope you're having a great Sunday and a very nice weekend!! Thanks for stopping by!

Thank You Card

My wonderful blogging friend, Chris, sent me a gorgeous birthday card and wonderful American Crafts felt flowers! So, I sent her a thank you card for the felt flowers, and I even used one on the thank you card!

A while back, Chris also sent me PaperTrey Ink papers and cardstock just for me to try! Isn't she the coolest? So, I ALSO used some of the patterned paper and the cardstock on this card! I also used a Stampin' Up thank you stamp, and I cut the sentiment and a mat with my Nestabilities. Now, I wanted to try the Nestabilities as a stencil, but I'm not too sure I like that distressed brown look on the "thank you" image. I also used Making Memories Noteworthy ribbon, and I sewed on a Making Memories button. Last, I just added a brad trio to the lacy ribbon.

How's your Saturday so far? I'm actually helping the girls clean their rooms, and I'm trying to craft a little. Have a great weekend!!

52 Sketches . . . 52 Weeks - Sketch #13

This is my layout for Sketch #13 at 52 Sketches . . . 52 Weeks. I love this sketch, and I love the way this layout turned out!

The papers, title, and the die cuts are all My Mind's Eye. I added a 7 gypsies "friends" cardstock sticker, and I stamped an Autumn Leaves swirl stamp in the lower corner. The flower is a Prima, the photo anchor is QuicKutz, and I added a couple of very pretty Making Memories brads. I got the gorgeous ric rac from Shel at ScrapCity. Last, I added some rhinestones on the stamped image. You can click on the layout to see it larger.

I hope you have a great Friday, a fantastic weekend, and as always, thanks for stopping by!
