Happy Halloween

Two posts in one day!! Woohoo! I just finished up this card, and I wanted to post it right away. Halloween is exactly two months from today, so I need to get started with my cards! This card features a FANTASTIC printable image from The Cutting Cafe'. I love the bracketed labels that Regina created for the Halloween Labels set! I'm going to be using more of them, so stay tuned! This card also features some of my favorite Halloween paper by Rusty Pickle. I also added a scrap piece of tulle, a fantastic button, and then an additional button trio. Last, I punched a little bat using a Martha Stewart punch that I got on clearance last year.

Here's a closeup of the fun stuff. I left the bat's wings popped up. Isn't that button on the tulle awesome!?!

I hope you are having a great day! I'll be featuring A LOT of projects using awesome printable images from The Cutting Cafe' this week! Regina is always putting out the coolest new sets. I swear, I don't know when she sleeps!! Thanks for stopping by!

You're Sweet

I made this card over the weekend using a printable image from Paper Popsicles. It's based on the current sketch for the week four challenge over at Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturdays. I used colored pencils. The gorgeous paper is Making Memories Chloe's Closet. The sentiment is from a $1 acrylic set from Michael's. The lace and button are just from my stash. I also added a Prima and a rhinestone.

Did you have a great weekend? We sure did! Happy Monday, and thanks for stopping by!

{dance}

I created this layout for a challenge over at Paper Popsicles. We were to create a layout and the only embellishments we could use are chipboard items. I struggled with this, but then it came together. The papers and the chipboard photo corners, button, and journaling piece are all Pink Paislee Enchanting. The title, brackets, and flower are all Maya Road that I painted with Making Memories paint. Yes, I added a little piece of twine to my button. I just had to. I cannot have an undressed button! I really like the way this turned out!

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Girl Time

I created this layout for a sketch challenge issued by Melissa at Paper Popsicles. I used My Mind's Eye Penny Lane paper, title, and die cuts. The ribbon are both Making Memories, and I added some Primas with Making Memories epoxy brad centers. I also added some rhinestones. I love this girly page for our fancy pedicures that we got in Arizona!

This is Melissa's hand drawn sketch. I flipped it for my layout.

I hope you had a great day. Thanks for stopping by!

Ride - 52 Sketches . . . 52 Weeks Layout

I had time to create a layout for Sketch #33 over at 52 Sketches . . . 52 Weeks. I love this sketch, and it was perfect for this cute photo that I have of the girls with their bikes. Once again, I used Cosmo Cricket The Boyfriend. In case you can't tell already, I'm LOVING this new collection! Could the bike border be any more perfect? I did a lot of distressing, added some Thickers for the title, and sewed on four buttons. I love it!

This is the fun sketch! Well, I hope you're having a great weekend! We're off to play some tennis! We're awful, but we sure do have fun! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, and thanks for stopping by!

Howdy

This is my card for Kazan's Sketch 33 at 2 Sketches 4 You! I used Cosmo Cricket The Boyfriend! Is it just me, or upon immediately hearing "The Boyfriend by Cosmo Cricket", do you want to start singing . . . "My boyfriend's back and there's gonna be trouble, hey la, hey la, my boyfriend's back!!" Sorry, I just couldn't resist! I did lots of distressing, I sewed a zig zag stitch, and I used my Nestabilities scallop rectangle. I even sewed on a button trio. I love the way this turned out! Fun sketch!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Just For You

I created this card for a card challenge #14 on the Paper Popsicles blog. Melissa created the card sketch. I immediately thought of my Cosmo Cricket Hello Sunshine papers. Fun sketch!

I hope you have a very fun weekend planned! Thanks for stopping by!

iPODS!

I just got some of the new Cosmo Cricket collection called The Boyfriend. I got it from the Paper Popsicles online store, and I couldn't wait to make a layout. I love the cassette tapes featured in this collection, and even though cassettes are VERY different from iPods, tunes are tunes, and it really worked for my page of the girls showing off their iPods! The "got tunes?" cardstock sticker just makes me smile! I added Mr. Campy twill ribbon to the bottom of the photo. I also sewed on three buttons. I love the clean lines on this page!

I hope you're having a great day and have some fun plans for the weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

Lemonheads

Regina from The Cutting Cafe' is at it again! She just went LEMON crazy, and I'm embracing her craziness! All of these printable images are from a NEW set called For the Love of Lemons!

We LOVE lemonheads in this house, so I decided to create box wraps for them. These wraps just slip right off the box! I love the "super sour-licious" printable image, so I used it on both boxes! My box wraps ended up being a little too muted than what I really wanted, but I just don't have any BRIGHT yellow-print paper! Even though the colors are pale, I still think the box wraps turned out VERY cute! You can click on the photo to see it larger. It's VERY gloomy here today, so I had a hard time getting good photos!

Here's a close up of one of the boxes. I added a Prima, used my Nestabilities, and added a Maya Road chipboard arrow. The finishing touch was some yellow rhinestones.

Here's a close up on the second box. I think these turned out really CUTE!

So, are you LEMON CRAZY too? Would you love to create with this NEW printable set? If so, leave me a comment, and I'll be giving away the entire For the Love of Lemons printable set on Sunday!! Good luck!!

This is my second post today. Be sure to check out my earlier post too!! Thanks for stopping by!

Locker Magnets and Room Sign

Ever since the girls got lockers at school (starting in the 4th grade), I've been making them a back-to-school locker magnet. These are the magnets I made this year. American Crafts flair was my inspiration. I had the girls pick a couple of the flair buttons that they liked, and then I chose the one that I was going to work with. The letters on both are from a We R Memory Keepers Tiffany paper pack. Jessica's also uses papers from that pack. The flowers are Primas and the ribbon on Emily's is from Maya Road. These are just fun, and the girls love them!

Next, I made this for our hair stylist. She recently had a baby, and when the girls went to get their back-to-school haircuts, I made this for her daughter. I used Basic Grey, Making Memories velvet letters and black and white papers, Tim Holtz tickets, Primas, and miscellaneous ribbons. She loved it, and she told that the she's going to hang it on her daughter's bedroom door. I was pretty happy with the way it turned out too!

The girls have a band practice today, so we are off. I hope you all have a great day, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Girl 3 Thank You

I'm enjoying the card sketches at Sketch Girl! This is my card for SG3.

I used We R Memory Keepers Tiffany papers, and I used my new Nestabilites ribbon slide! I also used a Nestabilities circle scallop. I stamped the "thank you" with a Stampin' Up stamp. I added some sheer ribbon and a rhinestone trio. I also did a asymmetrical fold and used my threading water punch on the card edge.

Sketch Girl calls this a simple sketch with lots of possibilites, and I couldn't agree with her more! Go check out Sketch Girl! Once they hit 100 followers, they are giving away THREE fantastic Stampin' Up sets! How cool is that!?!

I hope you have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Masculine Cards

A fellow message board member at Paper Popsicles asked me to be a guest designer at a new challenge site called Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturdays. I'm flattered that Rene' wanted me to be her guest designer. So, Rene' asked me to create a masculine card. Normally I struggle with masculine, but once I got started, I just couldn't stop, and I ended up creating three for the challenge.

This is Cosmo Cricket Cogsmo. On all three cards, I used my Tim Holtz texture hammer on the brads. I love smashing them!

This is Colorbok Paper Crush that I got at Target. The card front is actually a journaling sheet from a notebook. I used some ki Memories stamps on the front, and I sewed on some buttons.

This is Get Happy by Cosmo Cricket. I just LOVE the twill ribbon. It's just gorgeous. I did lots of sewing on this one! I sewed in a circle! Cool, huh!?!

I hope you have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

School Days Pencil Box

This is the adorable Pencil Box from The Cutting Cafe'. The sentiment on the box is from the School Days Printable Stamp Set which is also from The Cutting Cafe'.

I used Jack's World papers from Cosmo Cricket. I also added a "school days" brad and a Prima to the lid, and I wrapped some American Crafts ribbon around the box. My niece is starting Kindergarten this year, so I'll be giving this to her when I see her!

I hope you're enjoying your Sunday. Thanks for stopping by!

Layouts for Baby!

One of the ladies at Paper Popsicles is having a baby, and they decided to throw her an online "baby shower". Our contribution was to make her some 12x12 layouts that she could use after the baby was born. I decided to make two layouts for her . . . Halloween and Christmas.

I went with a cutesy approach to the Halloween layout. I softened it up with some flowers, I added a journaling circle, and I sewed on some buttons. I really like the "What a BOOtiful baby!" subtitle.

For the Christmas layout, I used Cosmo Cricket, and I added a subtitle that says, "Good things come in small packages!" I added two tags for journaling. I really love these traditional colors.

It was harder than I thought it would be to design layouts for someone else! However, I'm happy with the way they turned out. Hopefully she'll find them easy to use! I hope you're having a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by!

Being Together

This page is for a challenge at Paper Popsicles. First off, we needed to post a summer photo. I posted this family photo. Once everyone had their photos posted, we got the layout challenge instructions, which were to include the following on our layout of the photo that we posted:
  • yellow, blue and brown cardstock
  • 3 buttons
  • 4 different patterned papers
  • journaling
  • the word "blast" in the title
  • 3 stickers

I struggled the most with using the word "blast"! However, I made it work, and I love the result! This page is made with an August kit from the Paper Popsicles store. I love the Breaking Free My Mind's Eye papers! I cut the title and subtitle on my Cricut Expression. My journaling block was created with Autumn Leaves acrylic stamps. I added silk Primas, buttons, a Tim Holtz ticket, and 7 gypsies stickers. I also did a lot of distressing and used two border punches! This was a fun page to create, and I love it! You can click on it to see it larger!

I hope you're having a GREAT day! As always, thanks for stopping by!

Thank You

My wonderful and amazing blogging friend Chris recently sent me an envelope full of FUN! She sent me cardstock that she cut with the top note die, wonderful PaperTrey Ink patterned paper, fun twine, and gorgeous flowers!! Well, I used it ALL on this card! Plus, I used my NEW Nestabilities to cut out the "thank you" sentiment (which is a Stampin' Up stamp). I added some Making Memories Chelsea's Place lace, a Kaiser pearl trio, and the button. Isn't this rustic and fun? I'm loving the way this turned out!! You can click on the card to see it larger. So, thank you, Chris!! You are the BEST!!

I hope you are having a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Award & Vertical Paper Holder

Happy Sunday! First off, I want to show you an award that the wonderful Catherine gave to me! Catherine is one of my SBS2 sisters, and she is so sweet and talented, plus she has an adorable canine brother named Charlie who I am sure Princess would be great friends with if they were to ever meet in person! Thank you Catherine, I am honored! You inspire me too!

Next, I want to show you what I made yesterday! I started off with a priority box that I was just about to put in the recycling bin. I figured . . . why not make a vertical paper holder. So, I cut in like this.

Then I decorated it! I used papers that I've had for a LONG time. It required a lot of paper piecing, but I think it turned out awesome!

I added a flower and a button to the front, because that's the only part I'll be able to see when it sits in my bookshelf. This was fun to make, and I love the way it turned out!

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend! It's super HOT and HUMID here today. I will be inside! Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Relax!

It's been a LONG TIME since I've played along over at 52 Sketches . . . 52 Weeks, but I did create a layout for their current sketch!

I used a few pieces from my NEW Studio Calico kit for this layout. The patterned paper is Basic Grey June Bug, the letter stickers are Sassafras, the flowers are Primas, and I sewed on some buttons. I stamped a couple of Autumn Leaves swirl stamps in two corners of the page. The journaling was done on the computer and then cut into strips. I cut the large circle scallop on my Expression.

This is Sketch #31 over at 52 Sketches . . . 52 Weeks. Fun sketch, isn't it?

I hope you're having a great Saturday!! It's so hot and humid here today! I mean REALLY humid . . . yuck! I'll be staying inside in the A/C!! Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

So Very Amazing

I created this card for Kazan's Sketch 32 over at 2 Sketches 4 You.

I used We R Memory Keepers papers. I also used my Nestabilities. The sentiment is a wonderful printable image from The Cutting Cafe'. It is from the Chunky Praise Phrases set. I detail cut the flower and the leaf cluster from the gorgeous patterned papers. I sewed on two adorable buttons. You can click on the card to see it larger. I'm very happy with the way it turned out!

Speaking of buttons . . . look at what I got yesterday! The girls and I walked with Princess to check out some garage sales in our neighborhood. I stopped at one, and the lady there had three large jars filled with buttons. She told me $2 for all three. Well, she didn't have to tell me twice! I snatched them up, and the girls and I came home, sorted through them all, cut the thread and fabric off of all of them, I washed the jars and lids, and then we put them all back in. There is a jar with black/dark buttons, one with cream/white/clear buttons, and the last jar is "other" whick includes all of the colors. I have to admit, the middle jar is my favorite, because the buttons are just GORGEOUS! So, I used two of my "new" buttons on the above card! What a garage sale jackpot! I'm in button heaven over here!

Just a reminder, today is FREEBIE FRIDAY over at Paper Popsicles! Check out the blog TODAY in order to get your FREE printable image!!

Love & You Are So Fun!

Here are a couple more cards that I made using a card kit that Wendy from ScrapCity sent to me. The only thing I added were some tiny alphas to the second card. I really like the large vellum words that she sent! So much fun to use! On the second card, I used my chalk ink to change the color of a white flower. Cool!
I hope you're having a great week. Thanks for stopping by!

Big Saguaro Cactus

I created this layout last night for a sketch challenge over at Paper Popsicles.

I used Making Memories Passport papers, tags, stickers, fibers, and embellishments. I love this collection! I was cracking myself up, because I used "Fragile - Handle With Care" paper on a page about a cactus! Get it!?! Love this photo, and I'm loving the way this page turned out! You can click on it to see it larger.

Here's the sketch that Melissa drew. Fun, huh?

Grand Canyon

I haven't created a two-page layout in a long time! I wanted to scrap very recent photos from our Arizona trip, and the Grand Canyon definitely needs more than one page!

I used lots of items from my most recent Studio Calico kit. I also used SEI papers and tags. I added Making Memories Passport items. I sewed on quite a few buttons, and I really did a lot of distressing! I really love the way that this turned out! You can click on the photos for a closer look!

Here's a closer look at the first page. I love the tag and the tickets!

Here's a closer look at page two! I love all of these photos so much! What an amazing trip!

By the way, I'm trying out a new blog template. Let me know what you think! Thanks!! I hope you're having a great day, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Up

I haven't worked this hard on a layout in a LONG time, but it was totally worth it!

The girls and I took grandma, my mother-in-law, to see Disney's Up in 3D while we were in Arizona on vacation. It was such an excellent movie! We laughed and I cried too! Anyway, after the movie, we kept talking about the "cone of shame", and saying "squirrel!" at random times. It was cracking us all up. So, the event was definitely worth scrapbooking! I cut a BUNCH of balloons on my Expression. I tied thread to each and every one of them (Emily and Jessica helped!) I found movie posters online and shrunk them down. I mean, come on, Carl, Russell, and Dug HAVE TO be on the page! I also found Ellie's grape soda bottlecap, and printed that out too. I hand cut the title. I'm just LOVING the way this turned out!! It's such a fun layout! You can click on it to see it larger. And, yes, we all wore red shirts on the same day on purpose!

I hope you're having a great day. Enjoy your weekend! Thanks for stopping by!
