Howdy

This is my card for Kazan's Sketch 33 at 2 Sketches 4 You! I used Cosmo Cricket The Boyfriend! Is it just me, or upon immediately hearing "The Boyfriend by Cosmo Cricket", do you want to start singing . . . "My boyfriend's back and there's gonna be trouble, hey la, hey la, my boyfriend's back!!" Sorry, I just couldn't resist! I did lots of distressing, I sewed a zig zag stitch, and I used my Nestabilities scallop rectangle. I even sewed on a button trio. I love the way this turned out! Fun sketch!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

So Very Amazing

I created this card for Kazan's Sketch 32 over at 2 Sketches 4 You.

I used We R Memory Keepers papers. I also used my Nestabilities. The sentiment is a wonderful printable image from The Cutting Cafe'. It is from the Chunky Praise Phrases set. I detail cut the flower and the leaf cluster from the gorgeous patterned papers. I sewed on two adorable buttons. You can click on the card to see it larger. I'm very happy with the way it turned out!

Speaking of buttons . . . look at what I got yesterday! The girls and I walked with Princess to check out some garage sales in our neighborhood. I stopped at one, and the lady there had three large jars filled with buttons. She told me $2 for all three. Well, she didn't have to tell me twice! I snatched them up, and the girls and I came home, sorted through them all, cut the thread and fabric off of all of them, I washed the jars and lids, and then we put them all back in. There is a jar with black/dark buttons, one with cream/white/clear buttons, and the last jar is "other" whick includes all of the colors. I have to admit, the middle jar is my favorite, because the buttons are just GORGEOUS! So, I used two of my "new" buttons on the above card! What a garage sale jackpot! I'm in button heaven over here!

Just a reminder, today is FREEBIE FRIDAY over at Paper Popsicles! Check out the blog TODAY in order to get your FREE printable image!!

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Friday, a great weekend, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

UR adorable!

I love the sketches at 2 Sketches 4 You, but I don't play along as often as I should! This week, I created a card based on Laura's Sketch 31. I love the way it turned out!

The design team at 2S4Y used Just Rite Stamps. I love Just Rite stamps, but unfortunately, I don't own any! I know . . . it should be a crime! Anyway, when I think cute, circular sentiments, I think . . . The Cutting Cafe'! Regina creates the cutest circular sentiments! This is one of her 99 cents specials! It's the UR so adorable word circle! Cute, huh? I cut it out with my Coluzzle and mounted it on a Nestabilities scallop circle. I did a ton of distressing on this card, and added a lot of chalk ink. I threaded a gorgeous ribbon through the medallion, and I sewed on a Making Memories button. As a final touch, I added a straight pin. Love it!

Here's a close up of the button, ribbon, and pin combination. I love these straight pins! I love this sketch, and I love this card! I also used an awesome card kit that Wendy from ScrapCity sent to me! Fun stuff!

I hope you have a great day, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

You Rock - 2 Sketches 4 You

I had awesome Making Memories Just Chillin' paper scraps sitting on my desk, so I decided to make a card. I used the current card sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You. This is based on Laura's Sketch 24.

I love these Just Chillin' papers! I also used two of the Just Chillin' glitter die cuts. Isn't that owl cute? I added a stamped sentiment to the label glitter die cut. The two ribbons are both by Basic Grey. You can click on the card to see it larger. I love all of the color on this card!

I hope you have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Smile - Kazan's Sketch 17 - 2S4Y

I always love the card sketches at 2 Sketches 4 You, and I'm always bummed when I don't get time to make a card using the weekly sketch! This week, I had some time, so I created a card for Kazan's Sketch 17.
I really LOVE the way this card turned out!!

I recently purchased the Basic Grey Obscure paper collection. It's so funky! All of the papers I used are BG Obscure. The brown scallop was hand cut, and the felt scallop is Fancy Pants. I created the sentiment medallion with a Stampin' Up stamp, and I cut the two layers with my Nestabilities. I then punched a hole in the medallion, and hung it from the large ribbon. The turquoise/lime green ribbon is gorgeous, and I got it quite some time ago on clearance at Target. The felt flower, blue flower, and the sparkly button are all Making Memories Noteworthy. I distressed everything with chalk ink. You can click on the image to see it larger! I LOVE THIS!!

Edited to add: This card just got accepted into the Basic Grey Gallery!! Woohoo!! I'm so excited! Once again, I feel like a celebrity!!

We got a couple of inches of snow last night. Unfortunately, I'll be outside shoveling the driveway soon. I hope you all have a GREAT day! Thanks for stopping by!!

Hi - 2 Sketches 4 You

I got a chance to create a card for Kazan's Sketch 12 at 2 Sketches 4 You. I love their sketches!

I used Making Memories Fifth Avenue papers, Lil' Davis chipboard letters, American Crafts ribbon, and a grungeboard swirl. I used Distress Ink on the grungeboard. I also added a Prima and a trio of rhinestones on the swirl. Isn't that houndstooth epoxy button on the Prima totally cute? I love it!

I cannot believe it's Halloween tomorrow! Eek! I'm not sure we're ready. The morning of Halloween is always so crazy. Both of my girls are wearing their costumes to school. We love Halloween . . . can't wait! Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!!

Love Is All Around - 2S4U - Kazan's Sketch 9

I love the sketches and the talented ladies that hang out over at the 2 Sketches 4 You site! Another great sketch this week. Here is my card for Kazan's Sketch 9.

The card base is DCWV, and the patterned papers are vibrant Kimberly Hodges papers from K&Company. My entire card was inspired by the gorgeous ribbon that I received as a RAK from Sue at the Paper Crafts blog. I love the five buttons that I sewed on. I added chalk ink distressing too. I'm so pleased with this card! I'm going to give it to my mom the next time that I see her! She'll love it!

I hope you have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

SPOOKY - 2S4U - Laura's Sketch 8

Two posts in one day? I just can't help myself! Be sure to check out my layout that I posted below! I have been wanting to do a sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You for so long now. I don't know what took me so long to get one done! I love the sketches that Laura and Kazan put up on their site! Here is my card for the Laura's wonderful Sketch 8. I love it!

It's been cool the last couple of days, so I'm in the mood for Halloween! Halloween just makes me HAPPY! I used my two new Halloween stamps that I got from Hobby Lobby (thank you Liz!). The "SPOOKY" at the bottom is a fantastic Cosmo Cricket cardstock sticker. I stamped two Making Memories foam stamps (the bat and "eek!") with black paint. The photograph doesn't show it too well, but the bat looks like it's about to fly off the card! The ribbon is inked Twistel. I added a strip of black rhinestones at the bottom, and a trio of copper brads at the top. The brad trio is sitting on a score line that I inked. You can click on the card to see it larger. I really love the way this card turned out! What fun!

Thanks for stopping by!

Live It Up - Celebrate

I FINALLY got around to using one of the fantastic sketches over at the wonderful 2 Sketches 4 You site!

This is not for the current sketch, it is for a past sketch. At 4 Scrappy Sisters, one of the monthly challenges for August is to use Laura's Sketch #5. I turned the sketch on its side. I used Cosmo Cricket Halfway Cafe papers. I love these papers! The "live it up" stamp is one of the $1 acrylic stamps. Then I used Twistel on my card. Remember Twistel? It's from Making Memories, and I've had it for such a long time, but it really works on this card. Last touch is a western brad and lots of chalk ink distressing. I love the way this turned out!

Well, my girls start marching band boot camp today. It's from 9 a.m. until 12 noon. They have it for five days in a row. Thanks goodness it's only going to be in the upper 70's today. At least they won't be overwhelmed by the heat.

Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!
