So Very Amazing

I created this card for Kazan's Sketch 32 over at 2 Sketches 4 You.

I used We R Memory Keepers papers. I also used my Nestabilities. The sentiment is a wonderful printable image from The Cutting Cafe'. It is from the Chunky Praise Phrases set. I detail cut the flower and the leaf cluster from the gorgeous patterned papers. I sewed on two adorable buttons. You can click on the card to see it larger. I'm very happy with the way it turned out!

Speaking of buttons . . . look at what I got yesterday! The girls and I walked with Princess to check out some garage sales in our neighborhood. I stopped at one, and the lady there had three large jars filled with buttons. She told me $2 for all three. Well, she didn't have to tell me twice! I snatched them up, and the girls and I came home, sorted through them all, cut the thread and fabric off of all of them, I washed the jars and lids, and then we put them all back in. There is a jar with black/dark buttons, one with cream/white/clear buttons, and the last jar is "other" whick includes all of the colors. I have to admit, the middle jar is my favorite, because the buttons are just GORGEOUS! So, I used two of my "new" buttons on the above card! What a garage sale jackpot! I'm in button heaven over here!

Just a reminder, today is FREEBIE FRIDAY over at Paper Popsicles! Check out the blog TODAY in order to get your FREE printable image!!

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Friday, a great weekend, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Memorial Day Weekend Update

I hope you're having a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! We are having a great time!

Jessica and Dave set the all-time world record for consecutive catches with the Trac-Ball. They caught 21 in a row! Way to go guys!

I met my girlfriend Kathy for the rubber stamp flea market, and this is what I got. Take a look at what $27 buys! I got FOUR Stampin' Up sets! Two of them, I've never even seen before! I got an organization container for the girls for $1, and I got FOUR Copic markers for $1 each. They are brand new, so I just couldn't resist. I feel like I've gone over to the dark side! I'm curious about them, so I just had to buy them! I'm not sure what I'll be able to color with the selection that I purchased, but I'm sure I'll figure something out! I'm actually glad she had just the four! Who knows what would have happened if she had more! Anyway, I love what I purchased, and I'm thrilled with the bargains! I can't wait to play with my new stamps!!

I hope you're having a fantastic weekend! It's beautiful outside here in Illinois. We still have the parade tomorrow! If you live in the United States, please take the time tomorrow to acknowledge the meaning of Memorial Day! Have a great day, a fantastic weekend, and thanks for stopping by!

Goodies!

Last weekend, my girls spent the night at their Aunt Kristine's house. They do this every once in a while, and they call it their "day of fun with Aunt Kristine"! This time, among other things, they went to a pottery place, and painted figurines!

Emily painted the adorable elephant, and Jessica painted the cute frog! Aunt Kristine made a garden gnome (but I forgot my camera when we went to pick them up!) These are so CUTE, and the girls love them!

Here's a close up of Jessica's frog. Look at those eyes! He's so cute!

Here is Emily's elephant. He's so sweet! Aunt Kristine is the BEST!

Now, here are my goodies that I got at the rubber stamp flea market. I spent $80. I know, I know, I'm not supposed to be spending, but sometimes, you just have to forget about that, and loosen up a little when good deals are to be had! I think we can all agree that SEVEN Stampin' Up sets AND some loose stamps for $80 is a GREAT deal!! I got: Fun Faces, Lots of Thoughts, Sassy Sayings I, So Many Scallops, Office Accoutrement, All About U, and Be Happy. I also picked up a loose Mustang car stamp.

I picked up some loose stamps for the girls. They have quite a few Halloween foam stamps, so I got them three that they don't already have (bat, cat, and tombstone). I also got Jessica two french horn stamps (I was thrilled to find these since Jessica plays the french horn!), plus since I knew she had painted a frog ceramic piece, I got her a frog stamp! I got Emily a little chick stamp and a stamp that looks like a petroglyph. I wanted to get them more stamps, but nothing else really struck me as "them".

So, needless to say, I'm thrilled with my purchases! The girls were thrilled with their stamps too! I also met some super nice Stampin' Up ladies! The only stamp set I wanted that I didn't find was Stamp of Authenticity, and I just purchased that from someone on SplitCoast! Yeah!

We still have more birthday celebrating to do today, we have my nephew's graduation party to go to, and the girls are marching in a parade tomorrow. Unfortunately, it's going to be very HOT tomorrow, so the parade will not be fun. Hopefully, it's not too bad. I hope you're having a great long weekend, and thanks for stopping by!

Guest Designer at ScrapCity

I'm one of the guest designers at ScrapCity this month, and Wendy sent me some fun Basic Grey Euphoria goodies to create with. I'm going to dig in and make some fun cards with this gorgeous kit that she put together! Thanks Wendy!

She sent me quite the collection of gorgeous 6x6 papers. It's really hard to capture how pretty the colors are! I just love Basic Grey! She also sent two chipboards sheets, some rub ons, beautiful flowers, and some ribbons. I can't wait to dig in and get started!

It's going to be hot and humid again! This weather has been horrible. I woke up with a huge headache, so hopefully that will go away soon. My girls and I will be cleaning today, and then we need to figure out some indoor fun . . . maybe we'll get creative. Have a great Friday, and thanks for stopping by!

Woohoo! Awesome Goodies!

Well, I think we all already know that I am a goodie and bargain junkie! On Sunday, my husband and I went to my sister-in-law's house (my husband's sister) to pick up our girls. They had a girls night out with their Aunt and had spent the night. They had so much fun! Anyway, before we went to get them, I convinced my husband that we should stop at a scrapbook store in the area that was going out of business. Everything was 75% off. I'm very happy that I stopped by, because look at what I got!

This is everything just reclining and relaxing on my big chair and ottoman! Hello goodies! You can click on the photos to get a better view.

I got some Cosmo Cricket Dutch Girl papers and die cuts, Autumn Leaves stamps, chipboard pieces, Maya Road month/day sheers, small Maya Road stamps, a border acrylic block, fantastic ribbon, etc.

You can see more ribbon and wonderful Heidi Swapp black and white papers! Yummy!

I got a bunch of the Teresa Collins journal-it sheets. FUN! I also got some Basic Grey Cupcake papers and some Cosmo Cricket Hello Sunshine papers! Above the journal-it sheets is an awesome package of chipboard pieces.

I got a couple of western sheets and the cutest western stickers. I also got some Noteworthy papers by Making Memories and a couple of Creative Imagination papers.

In the center of this photo, you can see some die cut Creative Imagination sheets. They're so pretty and fun with the awesome borders! I also got some rain dot flower packs.

Now, I got all of this for just less than $40!! It was all 75% off!! I actually showed a lot of restraint! I wanted to buy everything with it being 75% off! The best part about this was that my husband patiently waited outside for me to finish up shopping. He's awesome! I had a blast bargain shopping. Now, I'm not supposed to be spending, but when you come across a bargain like this, how can you refuse?

I'm totally behind on blog hopping, and I have a feeling it's going to be that way the entire summer. However, I will try to catch up with all of you soon! As always, thanks for stopping by!

BBTB Lucky & an update from my wonderful weekend!

This is going to be a LONG post today. If you make it to the end, I will be impressed! First off, I want to show you my Bitten By The Bug Lucky challenge. We were challenged to use the "Lucky" cut on the Alphalicious cartridge. Please be sure to check out what the other design team members created. You will be impressed! This is a scrapbook page that I created for the challenge.

I really love this photo of my husband and I, and I had it displayed in my scrapping area. I knew I wanted to do something with it, but I wasn't sure what. When we got the "Lucky" challenge, it all fell into place for me. I do feel like I am incredibly Lucky to be married to a man that I'm crazy about, and I do feel like I am very Lucky when it comes to love, so I scrapped this photo, and I will probably end up framing this page and hanging it in my scrapping area. This page is all Basic Grey Urban Couture. I cut the flower centers for my Primas with my Coluzzle from one of the patterned sheets. The brown felt piece in the lower left corner came from my wonderful blogging friend Kristy. I'm just thrilled with the way this page turned out!

I took my girls to the rubber stamp flea market on Saturday. I met my girlfriend Kathy there, and we had so much fun shopping! It was a gorgeous day! Here are my wonderful purchases. I got all of this for around $50. Clockwise from the upper left: Bitty Boos Too (I love Halloween!), Very Punny (she mounted the sentiments on the side of the stamps -- I love that!!), So Many Sayings (what a cool set!), Party Animals (CUTE!), Border Buddies, Noteworthy (unmounted!), and four loose stamps (checkered flag and race car will be used when I scrap any tailgating photos that my husband takes when he goes to see Nascar or Indy races). I just had to get the "Dave" stamp since it's my husband's name (it was just $1, and the lady selling it? It's her ex-husband!), and the skeleton stamp was found by my youngest and myself at the same time. She grabbed it, purchased it, but later sold it to me. Smart girl! She got her $1 back, and she knows she can use it at anytime! So, I got GREAT stuff, and I cannot wait to ink these stamps up!

Here are my daughters' purchases. My youngest got the stamps at the top. The SU set is called Burst Into Bloom. She loves Tweety, so she had to get that stamp AND Sylvester! The heart stamp was 10 cents! My oldest's only purchase was the heart with the sheet music inside. The "from my pad to yours" SU stamp was free when I made a purchase. FUN stuff!

So, I had an amazing weekend! On Friday, we rented movies, and I really enjoyed them all! We watched 27 Dresses and P.S. I Love You. On Saturday, I watched Gone, Baby Gone (VERY thought provoking!!) and Juno. My PICK would have to be 27 Dresses! I LOVED it! The "Bennie & The Jets" singing scene had me laughing out loud! I just might have to purchase this DVD for my home collection! CUTE!!

On Saturday, after the flea market, my girlfriend Kathy, my girls, and I all went out to lunch. We ate on a patio, and Kathy and I got sunburned on our arms! It was gorgeous outside, and I just didn't give thought to the sun. It was such a great day! When I got home, I was able to finish up my "Lucky" page, watch a couple of movies, and just hang out. My husband got out on his motorcycle for part of the day, and then in the evening went with a friend of his to see Tim McGraw (he thought the concert was just OK). It was a GREAT day!

On Sunday, we spent the entire day together as a family. We grocery shopped, came home, listened to music while we prepared lunch / dinner, we grilled, we talked, we laughed, we watched Spiderman 3, we baked cookies, we had cookies & ice cream, etc. It was just one of the BEST family days we've had in a long time!

On Monday, my oldest marched in our village's Memorial Day parade. I walked with the band as a chaperone. My husband, youngest, and Princess came to watch the parade. It was a very nice parade, and it was great to take the time to think about the meaning of Memorial Day. Later on Monday, my husband and girls rode their bikes to the main park, while I brought the van with Princess, lots of water, and all our tennis gear. We had a blast playing tennis. We're not very good, but we had fun anyway!

If you made it through this entire post, and read the entire thing, I applaud you! Whew! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I'll catch up with you all later today. I'm off to cut the grass, and we all know how much I love doing that! Thanks for stopping by!

Fiskars Goodies!

Recently, Wendy at ScrapCity organized a chat on the site with Cheryl from Fiskars. It was very cool to tell her what we like, what we don't like, what we're looking for, etc. Fiskars makes amazing products! I have so many that I absolutely love. Cheryl encouraged us to join the Fiskateers site, which I did, and it is a lot of fun. Anyway, at one point during the chat Cheryl said to send her an email, and if we were one of the first four to send her an email, she would send us a Fiskars' goody. I didn't think that I was one of the first four (because I had left the chat, come back, and was getting caught up on what I missed when I saw her message about the email). Anyway, she sent me a message telling me that she was going to send me a squeeze punch. Awesome! I had seen these, and I was very interested in trying them out.

Look at what she sent to me! A small squeeze punch, a pair of micro-tipped scissors (MY micro-tip scissors from Fiskars are one of my absolute favorite tools that I own! I love them!), and a large squeeze punch. Isn't that awesome and very generous? I was blown away by her generosity! Thank you Cheryl!

Well, I have a couple of design team projects to work on today, and then hopefully I'll create something I can actually post! It's a beautiful day outside, so I'm tempted just to go sit out in the backyard. I hope you all have a wonderful day, a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by!!

Wonderful Mother's Day!

Since I posted my BBTB project yesterday, I didn't get an opportunity to share with you about my Mother's Day. It was absolutely wonderful from the morning until the evening. Dave and the girls ran out to Dunkin' Donuts for breakfast. I was given a blueberry muffin and a fresh hot cup of coffee. Jessica thought I should have breakfast in bed, but that's just not my thing. On the way to our kitchen table, I saw this hanging under the mantel in our family room.

The girls hung the Happy Birthday banner that we hang for all of our birthdays. They made it into a Mother's Day banner! How cute is this? I love it!

CUTE!

Next, Emily has been secretly working on making me a whole bunch of her crocheted flowers! I had no clue! She put them in some tiny jars that I just picked up at a garage sale for 10 cents each. Don't they look pretty?

Here's everything that she made! WOW! I love these!!

Here are Emily's and Jessica's cards that they made for me. I was thrilled that Emily actually used one of her crocheted flowers and really let it be the focal point on her card. Jessica used Queen & Co. embellishments. I love the color schemes! These are just fantastic! I love them both very much!!

This is the card that Dave made for me. This is the outside . . .

. . . and this is the inside. I love it! My husband stamped! He pointed out all of the mistakes that he thought he made. I think it's wonderful, and I don't see mistakes!!

Dave, Emily, and Jessica picked out a TON of items for me at Archiver's Hot Spot section! OMG! Would you just look at all of this? We love Disney in our house, and some of these embellishments make me so happy, because they were a HUGE part of what Emily and Jessica LOVED when they were little. I cannot even tell you how much they loved Toy Story and Bug's Life! I really need to do something special with those, because the girls just love these movies! I'm blown away by all of these! The thing that really gets me is that I look in the Hot Spot quite a bit when I'm at Archiver's, and I've never seen any of these!! How is that possible?

Then, they got fantastic acrylic stamps, amazing eyelets in themed packages, and tag lines. The eyelets have words around them. They are so cool! OMG!

They also got these kits in the Hot Spot. There is so much in these for the price! Dave told me that they didn't necessarily think that I wanted or needed cowboy or hoops packs, but they thought all of the paper included, the chipboard letters, the chipboard tags, and the metal embellishment was such a great price, they had to get it. You know what? They're absolutely right!! That's a lot of stuff for the price, and the paper is absolutely gorgeous! Jessica is signed up for Intramural Basketball in June, so I will use the hoops set for her! Cool!

I had the best Mother's Day. Dave, Emily, and Jessica spoiled me silly. I was served breakfast and lunch, I helped a little with dinner, we all hung out at home together, and I received some fantastic goodies. Dave and the girls also got me a Nickelback CD and the Enchanted CD soundtrack! Spoiled silly! What really put a smile on my face was imagining Dave and the girls actually picking out this stuff for me! It had to take them quite some time! Dave said that he thought they were scaring other customers, because they kept getting excited when they found something that they knew I would LOVE! CUTE!! I had a wonderful day, and believe me, I know what a lucky lady I am to have these wonderful people in my life! Dave, Emily, and Jessica are fantastic, and I love them will all of my heart! Thank you to them for making my Mother's Day wonderful!

I'm off to make a baby card for my amazing blogging friend Patsy! Welcome to the world baby Eleanor! I hope you all have a wonderful day, and thanks for stopping by!!

I love garage sales!

I stopped by at a subdivision sale yesterday. Subdivision sales are even better than garage sales, because you can just park and walk to many homes to see what goodies they're getting rid of! Many treasures are waiting to be discovered!

I picked up some awesome lace at one house. I can't wait to use this on some cards! Fun stuff! This same house also had great Disney items, and I got my oldest a brand new Mickey shirt and an Eeyore sweatshirt with matching sweatpants.

Then another house had these Creative Memories paper packs. They're 4"x6", and they come in a cool little case. She had them marked $3 each, but I got two for $5.

This one is Storybox Gazebo. I love the colors. They're all double-sided, and they are 96 pieces. I checked on eBay, and these are pretty expensive! Score!

This one is Storybox Chalet, and it has a much softer color palette. I might have to use these with some lace!

I also got my oldest some shirts at another house. This lady must have been a shopaholic or something, because she had tons of shirts for 50 cents each, and they looked brand new! I washed them all, and Emily even wore one to school today. You gotta love a great bargain!

I need to make my mom's Mother's Day card today. I'm happy to say that I cut the grass yesterday. I hate cutting the grass! It's exhausting! Anyway, it's done for the week, thank goodness. My husband has been out of town all week, and he'll be home tonight. Since I dropped him off at the airport on Tuesday, the girls and I will be picking him up from the airport tonight. When we get home, I plan on collapsing on the couch! Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!!

Goodies!

My father-in-law gave me an Archiver's gift card for my birthday. This was from both him and my mother-in-law. Obviously, I was thrilled. I got it from him a couple of weekends ago, and I'm happy to say that I showed great restraint, and I did NOT run out to spend it the next day! Quite amazing for me, if I do say so myself. So, yesterday, a trip to WalMart had to be made, and what's near Walmart? Yes, you're right, Archiver's! So, I decided to spend some of it. I'm happy to say that I still have a $5 balance on the card! See, restraint!

So, this is what I got! I got some fantastic Love, Elsie Noel goodies for HALF OFF! See those yellow stickers? They say 50% off. We like those stickers! Most of the Noel paper was gone, so I got 4 sheets of the same patterned. It's great though, because it's very Christmasy on one side, and snow patterned on the other. I also got that little Making Memories Noteworthy journaling spiral bound book. I've really wanted it, so I did pay full price for that. I also got one sheet of Noteworthy paper. Then I got three very cute epoxy Halloween stickers. I also bought adorable pet stamps. Both of these items were 75% off! See those aqua stickers? They say 75% off, and we LOVE those stickers! Then, I had two coupons for FREE Hot Spot items (Hot Spot items are all $1.99), and I got adorable Scrappy Cat acrylic stamps! So, I am thrilled, thrilled, thrilled with my purchases! I have Christmas layouts to do, and I'm very excited that I will be able to use the Love, Elsie Noel! I really love the entire Noteworthy line by Making Memories, so I will TRY to use these items and not hoard them! I believe you can click on the photo to see an enlarged view. FUN stuff!

It was a BEAUTIFUL day yesterday! The weather was perfect! It was upper 60's, maybe low 70's, and it was sunny and NOT windy. I had the windows open, and when the girls got home we sat out back on the patio . . . it was lovely! I am so excited, because I am scrappin' tomorrow in the Diva Den with my Diva girlfriends! Yeah! We always have so much fun, and it's been way too long since we got together! I need to organize today and decide what I'm taking with me! I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Somebody Stop Me!

I just posted a couple of days ago about how my girls and I went to Archiver's, and I found lots of fun stuff on sale. Well, I've wanted the Love, Elsie stuff for a while, but it's way too expensive when it's full price, so I had no intention on having any of it, UNTIL I saw it all marked 50% off. Well, I took the girls to Barnes & Noble yesterday, because they had some gift cards that were burning a hole in their pocket! Archiver's is just down the street. I decided that I needed a couple more sheets of paper in the Toby line.

Imagine my surprise when we found all of these! Seriously, these were NOT there the other day. Believe me, I looked! My girls helped me look! Where did all of these come from? All of the packages are Roxie, except for the last one which is Toby. I looked for Love, Elsie embellishments in the entire clearance section just a few days ago. Where were you hiding these, Archiver's? You thought you were so clever, but you didn't plan on me coming back so soon, did you? Hah! I tricked you, I triumphed, I purchased, and these are now mine! Gotcha!

Yep, I need help, I need to be stopped, and I NEED to get back on my spending freeze! Thanks for stopping by!

Garage Sale Story!

The garage sale didn't turn out as well as I would have liked. Garage sales in this area are really popular, and when I've had garage sales in the past, I've made at least $200. That's fantastic, and well worth the effort. This time . . . I only made $83.50! Oh no! It was a HOT and humid day, and it was a lot of work for that amount of money! However, I have a nice donation packed up, waiting to be picked up, and I'll just list more items on eBay.

So, at the beginning of the sale, my neighbor came by with her two children (my girls' good friends), and they wanted to take our girls to walk around and look at the other sales in the subdivision. So, I gave my girls $5 to spend if they saw something that they liked. My husband asked me if I told them not to buy junk, but I told him that I didn't say anything about what to spend it on intentionally. I wanted to see what they would choose without any suggestions or instructions. Well, imagine my surprise when they both came home with something for ME! I was just stunned! I think the world of my girls every single day, and this just shows me that they are truly two fabulous girls. They are thoughtful, sweet, and very kind!

My oldest daughter bought this for me for 25 cents. She knows that I love Halloween, and I love to decorate for Halloween. This is really gorgeous. I absolutely love it! She has good taste, doesn't she?

My youngest daughter bought me this funky, crazy mug! I love it! Totally my style. It's so funny and cute, and I really love it! Once again, it was 25 cents! She also has good taste! I have two new Halloween decorations, and I'm so excited!

My oldest also bought herself a little "rub bug" wooden massager. It's cute and functional! My youngest also bought herself a dog frame for her room for a photo of Princess. I think they did very well, and they brought me home change from $5! I just love my girls! They're really growing up!

Thanks for stopping by!
