Tennis Anyone?

This is another layout that I submitted for guest design team consideration. It is designed after the same sketch that I used on the bowling page that I posted a couple of days ago. I really LOVE these photos of my girls from when they took tennis lessons!

I used some of my papers from a Lisa Bearnson kit that I got on QVC. The border sticker at the bottom is from the kit too, as well as the large flower. I created the title on the computer, and I mounted it on the large flower. The brown flower on the right is a Prima, a small flower from the kit is on top of it, and then there is an epoxy sticker from the kit as the flower center. The scallop edge at the top is a piece of Bazzill die cut cardstock. As I said in my journaling, "Look out Venus and Serena . . . Emily and Jessica are coming after you!"

Spring break is over, and that aways makes me sad. I love when my girls are home. It's a horribly depressing day with the weather too. It's humid, rainy, and gloomy. Yuck! I have tons of cleaning and organizing to do today. Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Drumroll Please! And the Winners Are!

Thank you to everyone for participating in my blog candy giveaway! I wanted you ALL to win! Without further delay, here are the drawings!

Jessica picked #1. There were A LOT of entries for #1! The lucky winner is . . . .

Carole at Paper Arts! CONGRATULATIONS Carole!! Yippee!!

Emily picked the winner for #2. There were less entries in #2. Who is going to be the winner?

It's Nicola from My Paper World! CONGRATULATIONS Nicola! Woohoo!!

Thank you again to all of you that entered! A special thank you to all of you who posted photos! It was FUN to see you! Unfortunately, no one did the ad inspiration card. However, my own daughter, Jessica, created a card for my birthday inspired by an ad, so I'll have to get her a prize too! She tried it, and her result was spectacular! Thank you again! Have a great Sunday, and thanks for stopping by!!

BLOG CANDY REMINDER!

I'm going to keep this at the top . . . new post below! If you haven't commented on my blog candy post yet, there is still time. Comment on THIS POST! Remember, you need to tell me WHICH ONE you want . . . . #1 or #2. There are also ways to get your name in more than once. Read that post for more details. I'm drawing the winners on Sunday, and I will mail next week! Good luck!

Bowling Fun

I'm trying for a guest design team spot on a site that I frequent. We had to create a layout using a sketch. I created two. This is the first one.

I love these photos, especially the bowling shoes! My girls always think it's so fun to rent bowling shoes. We don't go bowling very often, but when we do, it's always FUN! I used Basic Grey Hang Ten papers on this. How fantastic is the bowling pin and the ball? I detail cut it out of one of the sheets of Basic Grey papers. I also hand cut the scallop at the top of the page. The large circle was cut using my Coluzzle. The two photo corners were cut on my QuicKutz. I'm very happy with how this page turned out!

Next, I was given this award by Dawn, Zee, and Alexandra. I keep forgetting to post it. Sorry ladies, I blame my forgetfulness on spring break! Thank you for passing it on to me. I'm honored! The "Arte Y Pico" (Art & More) is given to bloggers who share their art and creativity making their contribution to the blogger world. I'm supposed to pass this on to five bloggers. I dislike having to choose, and I've already seen it on a log of blogs, so can I just say that if you aren't currently displaying this award, and you're reading this right now, I nominate you!

I mentioned a while back that I was contracted to make a scrapbook. It's 8x8, and I'm just about finished! The final album has 52 layouts/pages in it (26 page protectors with two pages in each). It's for a man who is getting married. His aunt created a "look at his life", and the last few pages are photos of him with his fiancee. It's simple for the most part, because I wanted it to be masculine. I'll be anxious to meet with her next week to see her reaction to it. Have a GREAT weekend, and thanks for stopping by!

Card Sketch #37

Spring break has confused me! I seriously thought YESTERDAY was Wednesday! Nope, it was Thursday, and that means it was card sketch day on the Sketches! {by Tamara} site! Remember, if you do the sketch, link it back to Tamara's site. She is featuring guest designers now, and you could be the next one! Here's my card for card sketch #37.

All of the circles on the sketch had me a little stumped at first. Once I decided on the two circles that I wanted to use, using flowers for the other circles seemed so logical! I'm thrilled with how quickly this card just fell into place after that! The background patterned paper is Provo Craft from a Slab. The "love" and "beautiful you" circles plus the striped border on the bottom of the card front are all from a Christina Cole border stickers pack. The "amazing" was cut with my QuicKutz khaki alphabet. Last, but not least, I added gorgeous Primas. I really LOVE the way this card turned out!

Last day of spring break for my girls. They're back to school on Monday. I love having them at home, so I will be counting down the days until June and summer vacation! We NEED to do something REALLY fun today! Thanks for stopping by!!

Birthday Card & Birthday Goodies

I have some birthday goodies to show you, but first off, I'm going to show you a card that I made for my brother.

I struggle with masculine cards, but I think this one turned out OK. I used Basic Grey papers, and some My Mind's Eye rub ons. I always like to emphasize the fact that my brother is two years old than me, so having his age on the front was mandatory! After adhering the "44" rub ons to the ticket punched red cardstock, I distressed the cardstock a little with Tim Holtz corduroy ink. The "Happy Birthday" is a Stampin' Up stamp. I used some brads, and then I smashed them with my Tim Holtz texture hammer. The "stitching" is also MME rub ons. I guess it's not overly masculine, but I still like the way it turned out.

Here are my birthday goodies. My girls picked out TWO sets of the most adorable dog stamps. I love them both. Wow, my Princess pages are going to be styling! I also LOVED the movie Enchanted, so I was happy to receive it on DVD! I can't wait to watch it again!

I helped out with this gift a little!! I found this at Target on clearance for $3.98. It was originally $15. How could I pass that up? It was the only one there, or else I probably would have bought two more for my girls!! I've always wanted one of these craft totes! I love it! I bought it, and then gave it to my husband to give to me. I can't wait to fill up all of those pockets!

I have mentioned numerous times to my girls that I love the French Twist papers, and I didn't have any of them. So, they picked some out for me, and they got me coordinating cardstock to go with them. My girls are seriously the best shoppers ever! I will have a very hard time cutting into these papers! They're GORGEOUS!

I still won't be blog hopping too much until next week. My girls and I are off to Hobby Lobby today to take a look around, and then we need to do something FUN! It is spring break after all, even though the weather isn't cooperating! Have a great day, and thank for stopping by!

Birthday Fun!

Thank you for ALL of the birthday wishes yesterday! I appreciate them very much! I have some photos to share with you!

I wanted to show you a photo of me in my new t-shirt. I bought myself a birthday present at Archiver's on Monday. It's a Rusty Pickle shirt, and it says "Scrap Addict". Around the circle, it says, "Caution: Scrapbooking may be addictive and hazardous to your pocketbook" Well, isn't that the truth? Princess posed with me!

I got a gorgeous card from Deb at Stampin' On the Mountain. Deb is so sweet and kind, and I'm so happy that she's one of my blogging friends! Deb put some scallop die cut stamped images plus some Primas inside the card. How sweet! I love the image on the card, and the ribbon is so pretty! Thank you so much Deb!

My girls made cards for me all by themselves. My husband and I did not help them at all. This card is from my daughter Emily. She owns the Olive You Stampin' Up set, and she used it to make my card. I absolutely love it! She added some Stickles for a little sparkle! She even used my ticket punch!

My daughter Jessica used this magazine cover as her inspiration. She wanted to do an ad inspiration like I did a few days ago.

Didn't she do an amazing job? She chalked the pots, and they really feel like they're terra cotta! I'm incredibly impressed! My girls are both so creative!

I got some wonderful goodies too! I'll show you those tomorrow! I have a very nice birthday, and the best part was spending the whole day with my girls! How nice to have them at home on my birthday! Unfortunately, my husband worked a really long day, so I didn't get an opportunity to spend too much time with him. We did rent movies yesterday, and my girls and I watched Waitress, Martian Child, and then in the evening, we all watched August Rush. All three were pretty good movies! Fun birthday! Thanks again for all of the fantastic birthday wishes, and thanks for stopping by!!

Happy Birthday To ME!

It's my 42nd birthday today! Woohoo! It does not seem like it's my birthday today. I think the early Easter has made the month seem out of whack! I will be spending the day with my girls. They're usually not home on my birthday, but since it's spring break this week, I get to spend time with them. I'm very excited about that. I'm sure we'll figure out something fun to do!

I have some wonderful birthday goodies to show you!

First off, my wonderful blogging friend Patsy sent me these amazing goodies! Patsy is such a sweet friend! Everything is wonderful! First and foremost the black and white card that she made is GORGEOUS! She sent adorable black and white mini brads, beautiful pink sheer ribbon with flowers on it, a flower embellishment pack, and small acrylic stamps. One of the embellishments in the pack is an interactive pocket. It's say, "I love", and in the last one, you put a little photo. How cute is that? I love it! Thank you so much Patsy! You are the BEST! I love it all!

Next, I got these goodies from my very good friend Sharon. Sharon was my secret sister on the Cricut message board during 2007. She is a wonderful lady, and I'm so glad we became such good friends. Sharon recently became a Stampin' Up demonstrator, and look at what she sent me! I am blown away! First off, look at the gorgeous card she made! Those birds are so cute! Then, she sent me Birthday Whimsy! Thank you so much! The rubber on this stamp set is die cut! Wow, mounting this set is going to be easy! Sharon, thank you!!

I got this gorgeous card from my wonderful girlfriend Kathy. Thank you Kathy, I love this card! Just beautiful!

I got this card from my Diva Den friend, Queen Diva Sue! Isn't it divalicous? Bella is wonderful! Thank you Sue!

So, as you can see, I'm one lucky lady! Thank you my dear friends! You've made my day! I appreciate you all very much! Well, I am getting off the computer! It's time for me to do some celebrating! Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!!

Lots of Easter photos!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. Here are some photos from our celebration.

Emily is showing off the Elmo egg that I made for her. That drawing isn't very good, but it's really hard to tell exactly what you're doing with that white crayon on the white eggshell! Emily has always loved Elmo since she was a baby. Even with the bad drawing, she liked her Elmo egg!

Jessica is showing off her blue smiley face egg. It's so cute! Jessica's very cute too!

Here are the full dozen eggs that we colored. My favorite is my green one in the upper right!

Here is Jessica posing with her Easter basket. It was her idea to create a "scene" of her Easter goodies for her to pose next to for a photograph. Look at how her eggs are all lined up with candy just spilling out of them. Isn't that cute?

This is her "scene" minus the box of Mike & Ike's (which were opened way too early in the day!) Fantastic presentation, isn't it?

Then Emily decided to create a "scene" of her goodies so that she could pose next to them all. She wanted most of her eggs to appear to be hidden! My girls are so funny!

Here is Emily's scene. See how there is a pink egg just peaking out by the blue binder photo album? And there is an orange one peaking out on the right side? Cute! She still had her box of Mike & Ike's in her scene.

Here, Jessica and Emily are going to duke it out to be the winner of the best Easter "scene"! Aren't they silly? I think both scenes are winners, don't you? I love that my girls love posing for photographs! They're such hams in front of the camera! I love it!

And then because Princess hadn't been in any photos (even though she was trying to get in the photos - she loves being a part of everything!), and since we think that she thinks that EVERYTHING is about her, I took a photo of her alone. She's a silly girl! I think she was wondering where her Easter basket was!

My girls are on spring break this week, so I'll probably still post in the morning, but I won't be blog hopping too much. I want to spend less time on the computer and more time with my girls! Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Easter! Fun things to show you!!

First off, Happy Easter! I won't be blog hopping today, but I thought I would post in case anyone is blog hopping over to my site! If you haven't entered my blog candy draw, please do so by commenting on Friday's post.

Yesterday I posted a card that I made for Sharon's funny card challenge. Today I want to show you the amazing happy mail that I received on Thursday from my very good blogging friend Sharon. Sharon is so talented! Her cards are gorgeous! She is a whiz with the Cricut. I recently won some blog candy from her. First and foremost, look at the GORGEOUS card that she sent to me!

Look at this Cricut Design Studio work! She designed the "friends" to cut out in the ric rac piece, and then she designed a scalloped shadow for the ric rac. Wow! The heart borders are fantastic too! I have a question to ask . . . does everyone but me use wire edged ribbon? I NEVER buy wire edged ribbon, and now I'm wondering why I don't, because the black and white gingham ribbon is wire edged, and it's fantastic! Plus, when I took the card out of the envelope, I was able to poof the bow right back up the way it's supposed to be! Cool!

Now look at the goodies I got from Sharon! Wow! I'm telling you, I am the luckiest lady in the blogging world, because I get so many wonderful items from my friends! There is a bag of buttons and pins, a bag of dew drops (these are so pretty -- Sharon used them in the middle of the hearts on the card that she made for me!), GORGEOUS Primas (will you just look at those colors!), My Mind's Eye "this and that" frames (these are fantastic when doing quick scrapbook pages!), and two of the cutest classic Winnie the Pooh sticker sheets. Thank you SO MUCH Sharon! Wow!

On Friday, I got this amazing birthday card from one of my SBS2 sisters, Kathleen! Kathleen is so talented, and it's wonderful to see one of her cards in person! This card is a 6x6 square folded in half! I love the size, and I'm going to have to make this size card myself. Kathleen LOVES cupcakes, and this card showcases them perfectly! (I love cupcakes too!) Thank you so much Kathleen! I love this card!

Happy Easter to you all! Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Wishes & Other Fun Things!

First off, Happy Birthday to my brother Tom, and my sister-in-law Kristine! Interestingly enough my only brother and Dave's only sister share the same birthday! My brother has never visited my blog (he's never on a computer), but I'm wishing him a Happy Birthday on here anyway! Happy Birthday Tom! Happy Birthday Kristine!

Next, here is a card I made for Sharon's funny card challenge. I certainly thought this was funny! I don't agree with Stamping Bella's attitude, but she's certainly entitled to her opinion!! I just love the way this card turned out! I don't have any Bellas. I got this image either in the image swap with some of my SBS2 sisters, or I got it from my secret sister Lori T. I'm sorry, I don't remember exactly where it came from, but I do appreciate having received it!!

On yesterday's post for my blog candy draw, I asked you to post a current photo of yourself. I didn't want to challenge YOU to do something that I'm not willing to do myself. So, just to show you that I am willing to do it myself, I took this photo of myself! I am holding my digital camera at arm's length! This is me yesterday!! Now, this is a CLOSE UP!! I want to give HUGE kudos to Dawn at Buggin' Around, because she posted a photo of herself right away yesterday! She didn't want to (I have no idea why . . . I think she looks nice!), but she did it anyway! Great photo Dawn!!

I discovered that I can turn my photo into a black and white photo when I "fix" it in my Windows Photo Gallery viewer! Hello! I didn't know this! I selected to "adjust color", and I removed all of the "color saturation". This is fantastic! I'm going to copy some photos, remove the color, and then send them to SnapFish to print. I can't wait to see how they look when I get them back! I'm very excited about this! My goodness, doesn't my skin look flawless in black and white?!!

In Friday's post, I also mentioned being inspired to create a card or a layout by an ad in a magazine. After I posted, I went in search of an ad. Here's what I found, and my card follows.

I was going to use an ad in a scrapbooking magazine, but I decided to use one in a regular magazine. So, I came across this ad for Lowe's (a home improvement store). I love the three flowers, the stems, and the white background. I used an Autumn Leaves acrylic swirl stamp for the flower stem. The stem didn't have any stalks for the three flowers, so I drew them all by hand. The flowers are Primas. The "thanks a lot" is from a Michael's $1 acrylic stamp set. The ribbon I just got at Target on clearance. It's really rough and textured! I'm absolutely thrilled with this card! The ad really inspired me! What fun!

So, that's it from me! Have a wonderful Saturday! Thanks for stopping by!!

Easter Card & BLOG CANDY ALERT!!!

I finally got around to making a card for Nicola's sketch #6. Nicola's My Paper World site is fantastic. You should definitely try out one of her sketches.

I stamped a Easter bunny on pale green cardstock, and I used colored pencils and gamsol to color him in. I matted the image and placed the image on top of Provo Craft patterned paper panels. I tied a pale green ribbon around the card front (bad light today -- you can't see the pale green), and then I finished it up by adding a gorgeous purple felt flower and a rhinestone. I got the felt flower from Nicola! Thanks Nicola! I love them! What an awesome sketch!

Next, whoop, whoop, blog candy alert! Blog candy alert!! I'm giving away TWO sets of blog candy!!

Here's the first selection. Some Making Memories Funky Vintage flocked labels & ephemera stickers (ruby, 41 stickers), Autumn Leaves clear stamps (winter holidays by tia bennett), and Marcella by K fresh paint adhesive transfer (adhesive rub-on, just transfer and glitter, 1 sheet, 98 pieces).

Here's the second set of blog candy. Making Memories foam stamps (floral/dingbat - 12 stamps - you can only see half of the foam stamps), Making Memories funky vintage labels and stickers (also seen above in the first selection), and Autumn Leaves Mod Design "blackbird" epoxy stickers.

So, what do you need to do? First off, you have to tell me WHICH blog candy you would prefer. Would you prefer #1 with the acrylic stamps, or #2 with the foam stamps. You can't tell me that you love them both, you have to pick one. Just by leaving me a comment with your choice, you are entered.

Now, if you would like an additional chance (for example: you like them both, you pick #1, but you would really like a chance to win #2 also, or you would like TWO chances to win #1, or you would like TWO chances to win #2), you must post a current photo of yourself in a blog entry. I want a "this is me today" photo post. I'm very visual, and I would LOVE to see what you look like! Many of you have photos of yourself on your blogs, and many of you don't, but what I want is a "TODAY" photo! Come on, you can do it!!

Then if you want even another chance (but you must do the photo first!!), you can create a card or a layout that is inspired by an ad in a magazine. I'm going to try to get to an example today! The ad can inspire you with its font, its colors, its layout . . . something in the ad must inspire you to create a card or a layout. (HINT: Use a scrapbooking magazine -- the ads are fantastic!)

So, lots of rules? Nah, not so much! Just by leaving a comment with your choice, you're entered, and the rest of it is just for FUN! I would really LOVE to see the photos, so please consider posting a current picture of YOU! I can think of many blog friends that I have, and I have no idea what you look like! I would love to see the face behind the creations!!!

My birthday is on Tuesday, and I was going to give away both sets of candy on the 25th, but that doesn't really give you a lot of time. SO, I will give them both away on Sunday, March 30th, and I will get them in the mail to you on Monday, March 31st!! Everyone can enter! I will ship to you no matter what continent you live on!!

So, enter away, and TAKE THAT PHOTO OF YOU!! I want to see YOU!!

Today is the first day of spring break for my girls, and it's snowing outside! Hello!?! We aren't supposed to get too much today, but I would be happy with none at all! I'll be back tomorrow with a FUNNY card that I made for a challenge! Thanks for stopping by!!

Card Sketch #36

It's Thursday, so that means there's a new sketch over at the Sketches! {by Tamara} site. Here's my card for Card Sketch #36.

Starting on Saturday, there will be the first Sketches! Guest Designer! Would you like a chance to be a Guest Designer on Sketches! {by Tamara}? If you would, use the sketch, and link it back to Tamara's site! She'll check out what you've done, and who knows? You might be the next guest designer! It is that simple!

For my card, I used Cosmo Cricket Wanted papers, paper border strip, and cardstock "yee haw" embellishment. I added Lil' David chipboard letters for the sentiment. The stars are Tim Holtz grungeboard! Yes, my friends, I opened up my grungeboard and actually USED three pieces! Wow! They are distressed with Tim Holtz brushed corduroy ink. I added three western brads to the border strip. That's it. Quick and easy, and I love it! It's so western!

I have BIG blog candy news that I will post later today or tomorrow morning. It's five days until my 42nd birthday, and on my birthday, someone will be getting picked by me to receive a present! Stay tuned! Thanks for stopping by!

More Goodies

I got some more fantastic goodies from Jen at ScrapCity! I won two of her month-long challenges, and this is the RAK that she sent to me. Isn't it fabulous?

She made me a gorgeous card, and then she sent a bunch of flowers, chipboard centers, some rhinestones, some rhinestone brads, and a couple of flower clips. All of these are from a Lisa Bearnson kit that was sold on QVC. It was such a dark, wet, cold, and gloomy day here yesterday, and this was like receiving a little bit of spring in an envelope! Totally made my day! Thank you so much Jen!

I was wondering if anyone has heard about the man that is selling his life! I read this on the Yahoo News page yesterday. Apparently, this man is tired of his life, so he's going to sell it to someone else. He's in Perth, Australia, and he's getting rid of it all. Check out his site if you get a chance: http://www.alife4sale.com/. I found it to be very interesting! He's selling it all on June 22nd, and after the fact, he says, "I intend to walk out of my front door with my wallet in one pocket and my passport in the other, nothing else at all, and get on the train, with no idea where I am going or what the future holds for me." Like I said . . . interesting!!

OK, I never got to the cards that I wanted to make yesterday, so I don't have anything new to show you. I DID work on the scrapbook that I was contracted to make. However, I can't show that to you, because the photos don't belong to me. I want to make some cards today . . . we'll see how that goes! I also need to run a few errands. I have nothing for Easter! I need to get some goodies! PLUS, I want to get out and buy "Enchanted" on DVD. My girls and I saw it at the theatre, and it was fantastic! To me, it's a "must own" DVD!

Have a great day! I'll definitely have something to show you tomorrow, and thanks for stopping by!

Pet of the Month Update

Oh well, we tried our best, but voting for the Pet of the Month ended yesterday, and it appears that we were not victorious. I want to thank all of you that cheered us on and voted for our sweet girl, Princess!

It doesn't matter what the site says, because she's a winner to US! Look at that face! I need to get working on some cards, and hopefully I'll be back with an afternoon post! Thanks again for the votes, and thanks for stopping by!

Cousins

This is another negative space challenge page. I'm loving these layouts! I love the simplicity and the clean look. I also love that the photo is definitely the main focus.

This is a photo from 2005, and it is my girls with their younger cousins. These cousins are on my husband's side of the family. Isn't this the cutest photo? I used Basic Grey papers. I cut two strips from a dotted sheet, and I created the criss-cross border on the page. The "cousins" title is chip chatter chipboard letters. That's it. Easy as can be, but I like it!

I'm counting down the days this week, because spring break starts for my girls when they get home from school on Thursday! I can't wait! They can definitely use the break, and I love when they're at home! Thanks for stopping by!

Altered Jar

When I got my CropADile Big Bite from HSN, it came with a lot of eyelets and grommets. I decided to alter a jar to hold them all.

This is either a large relish jar or a small pickle jar. I used My Mind's Eye papers, a metal rimmed tag, ribbon, felt ribbon, Prima Sprites, plus a gorgeous Making Memories brad. I really like red and turquoise together, so I love the way this turned out.

I cut a flower with my Coluzzle from another sheet of My Mind's Eye paper for the lid. I love when organization is functional AND pretty!

My oldest did great with her school choir yesterday! The choir could have finished I, II, or III, and they did finish "I", which means that they will compete again at a state level!! Very impressive! I have to admit, they were awesome!

Here's Emily in her choir robe! Doesn't she look cute? Have a great Sunday! Thanks for all of the Princess votes! If you haven't had a chance to vote for Princess yet, please visit yesterday's post and give her your votes! Thank you so much!! Thanks for stopping by!

Please HELP & Princess Page

I have a HUGE favor to ask of all of you. Could you please take a few minutes to VOTE for Princess? She's in the running for Pet of the Month in our local newspaper. She is being beat by quite a large margin right now, but we can still keep trying to close the gap, right? There is voting on four sites, and since ALL of the votes count, if you could vote on all four, I would really appreciate it. Please vote on the sites for Mokena, Frankfort, New Lenox, and Orland Park. Princess is the 2nd dog on all of the sites. You just need to select Princess, and then go to the bottom to click on the "vote" button. It's very easy. If you vote, thank you so much!

Here's a scrapbook page I did for a challenge at 4 Scrappy Sisters. I was randomly selected as the winner of the challenge! The challenge was to love your paper and to use patterned paper from three manufacturers on a layout. I actually used four! I used My Mind's Eye, Junkitz, ScrapWorks, and SandyLion. I normally don't mix papers from different manufactures on a layout like this, so this was really a FUN challenge for me. I don't know if you can read the MME tag, but it actually says, "make way for the princess" . . . now, how perfect is that? (You can click on the photo for a larger view!) Princess is showing off a diva dog purse toy (with an embroidered "Princess" on it) that she got from one of my very divalicious friends, Queen Diva Sue. I definitely need to add a small journaling spot on this page before it goes in my album. I added some Primas and lots of rhinestones. I love the way this page turned out!

We have a choir music competition to go to today for my oldest, so I will be catching up with all of you later this weekend. Have a great weekend! Thanks for the VOTES, and thanks for stopping by!

Sorry for Word Verification!

I'm sorry, but I'm going to enable word verification for a while. I don't like it, but I'm tired of deleting non-crafting comments with links in them. I've been getting a lot of these comments lately, and I want to see if the word verification helps. Sorry!

Thanks Card & Happy Mail

I made this card for a challenge over at 4 Scrappy Sisters. We were challenged to make a card using brown, red, and yellow, circles, and some stamping. This is what I came up with.

When I read the color combination, I immediately thought of this We R Memory Keepers paper. I cut circles from the patterned paper with my Coluzzle. I stamped "Thanks" with a stamp from my Everyday Expressions Stampin' Up set. Two circles and the sentiment are popped up from the card. I also added some brown dotted ribbon around the ticket punched card front. This card didn't photograph well, because the yellow that I stamped the sentiment on and the yellows in the circles look very different in the photograph, but in real life, they're very similar. Oh well!

I also got some goodies from Wendy at ScrapCity. I won two challenges that she issued during the Virtual Crop over the leap day weekend at the end of February. I won both the "think outside the box" use cardboard on your layout and the "playing with a full deck?" use playing cards on your layout challenges. Wendy sent me some goodies for winning. Thanks Wendy.

I have quite a few errands to run, and I need to do more pages in the scrapbook that I'm making for a client. I'm very behind on blog hopping, but I'll catch up with all of you this weekend. Have a great Friday and a fantastic weekend. Thanks for stopping by!
