Totally Us!

Moxie Fab is one of my favorite blogs! Every Tuesday, Cath posts a Tuesday Trigger. If I'm not in card mode, which I'm usually NOT, I admire the Tuesday Trigger, but don't usually create anything for it! Not this week! Lightbulb moment! The Tuesday Trigger can inspire my layouts!! Yeah baby!! So, this is my layout that was inspired by the Tuesday Trigger! As soon as I saw the photo, I thought of this Pink Paislee paper from the 365 Degrees collection. I know this paper is completely different from the pattern in the photo, but it's what I thought of! I decided to scrap a self-portrait of the four of us, and this is TOTALLY US! I love self-portraits! The sewing and the glitter white chipboard Thickers really were inspired by the photo too! I kept this layout clean and simple, and I love it!

Besides immediately thinking of that particular patterned paper, I also noticed the mirror and the flowers. Well, the mirror inspired me to use the silver sparkly brads, and the flowers inspired me to use a Prima trio. I just couldn't do pink flowers though. Pink wouldn't work with this page, so I took the liberty of using orange instead which really worked with my page AND the cute Pink Paislee flip note I used for my journaling! :)

Here is the photo that was my inspiration! Hopefully you can SEE how it inspired me! Thanks for stopping by!

Cards For My Girls!

Here are a couple of cards I made in the last couple of weeks for my girls!

This is Emily's birthday card! How is it possible that she's 15 years old!?! I used Pink Paislee and a Petaloo flower. I love the flip notes! That shape is so fun!

Jessica also made her Confirmation! Once again, I used Pink Paislee. This time I used Queen Bee. Seriously, I love the flip notes! I also typed up the sentiment, printed it on the patterned paper, and then cut it out with one of my circle scallop Nestabilities.

I hope you are having a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

I created a couple of fun gift card holders over the weekend. These really just took me a few minutes! I used some awesome Cosmo Cricket double-sided paper, put in a couple of folds, stitched on my machine, added a couple of stamps, some glitter leaves, a flower, and a button! Done! Cute as can be!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! We have one Christmas celebration done, and one to go! We had a wonderful time celebrating! Thanks for stopping by!

Is this not the coolest layout ever!?! I love these papers! This is from Halloween 2006! Aren't the girls CUTE!?! I just love the way this turned out!

Here are my Candy Monsters! I love it! I did lots of stitching on this page! I cut that cool large shape on my Cricut Expression! The Pink Paislee glitter chipboard letters are the perfect touch!

Here's a fun, overly distressed card! I really like the way this turned out!

There were some fun spider elements in the collection, and I decided to create a Halloween card featuring them! Very cool!

Thanks Stephanie for the opportunity to play with more awesome goodies from CraftySteals! I really ♥ CraftySteals! I hope you're all having a great day, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

I created this page for a Music Challenge over at Scrap-Friendzy! I coffee stained and then glimmer misted some music paper, and I created three flowers and one butterfly with the paper. I love it! I used my Nestabilities circle scallops to cut the flowers. The rest of the page is ALL Pink Paislee! I used awesome stuff that I got from my warehouse box! Oh my, I love that warehouse box! What a value for the money!! I just love how this page turned out!

I hope you enjoy your long weekend, and thanks for stopping by!

A Layout for FUN!

I finished a layout yesterday that I created just for FUN! It isn't for a challenge, it's not based on a sketch, it is just something that I wanted to work on! What a concept! I used some new Sassafras Indie Girl papers. I love them! These are photos of Emily marching in her first high school parade on the 4th of July. Wow, was it HOT! What a trooper! I love the way this turned out!

I hope you're having a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Live Out Loud!

I was looking at all of my Pink Paislee stuff the other day, and I really wanted to use this 12x12 transparency. I found the perfect photo, cut it to size with my Coluzzle, and then assembled this page! I love the simplicity of this! I love sewing on transparencies too! This page is for a challenge at Scrap-Friendzy's Camp-Friendzy!! We are having such a great time camping!!

I hope you're having a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

25 Days Until Christmas - Days 15 - 18

Here are more pages from my 25 Days Until Christmas book!

This is a photo of tube sock snowmen. The girls each made one in 2nd grade, and they love putting them out every year. I love when they come out too!

This is another decoration. Dave's dad got this musical mailbox for us on our first Christmas as a married couple. So, I've been putting this on our mantle since 1993! I love it! It makes me smile! You can see another page for Day 16 peeking through.

The main Day 16 page features the photo card that I sent out mostly to family. I love sending out a photo that I took of my girls!

Day 17 features the symphonic band at the Junior High School. The girls had their Winter Concert, and it was AMAZING! They are in both choir and the symphonic band. The concert band also performed. GREAT night of music! The other photo features Jessica holding up her Amelia Earhart photo biography project and on the table is her family tree. She left both of these projects that were due on Friday until Thursday night to finish! Whew!

Day 18 features my festively dressed girls! On the last day of school before Winter Break, the Junior High has two assemblies, and the girls get to sing with the choir and play their instruments with the symphonic band. They love this last day before break! They only have a few classes, and they get to perform in front of the rest of the school, and then they perform a second time for the younger kids that come from one of the other schools in the district. It's a lot of fun for them!

I hope you're having a great day, and I hope you're ready for Christmas!! We are baking today and having lots of fun! I love this time of the year! Thanks for stopping by!

Unique

This is a card that I created for a Unity Challenge on SCS. The challenge was to create a card that's shiny and glittery. I used my Le Chic Vintage stamp set and Jillibean papers. The diamond plate is metallic tape that I ran through my Cuttlebug. I added a couple of fun Making Memories buttons on silver cord. I added rhinestones and glitter Thickers, and I painted on some Shimmerz and Blingz. This card is very shiny and glittery!

I hope you're having a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

You're a Heartbreaker!

I love the Making Memories Just Chillin' collection! When I saw the "heartbreaker" and "dream maker" glitter die cuts, the most awesome Pat Benetar "Heartbreaker" song popped into my head, and I just knew that a song lyric on this card would be perfect! I cut the heart freehand, and then I printed the lyric from my computer directly on the heart. I added a couple of Making Memories tiny alphas "xoxo", a Petaloo flower, a Making Memories glitter brad, and some Love, Elsie ribbon. I did a lot of distressing and inking on the papers. A rhinestone trio was the finishing touch. Well, this is another card that I submitted for a publication call at Paper Crafts, and it did not get selected. However, it's in the Making Memories customer gallery this month!! I love it, and I think it's totally cool!

I hope you have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

fashion designers!

My latest layout features my awesome fashion designers! They got plain white t-shirts from the local library, and they could do whatever they wanted to the shirts before they revealed them at the fashion show. I think they both did an AMAZING job!

Since they're both brilliant and creative, I thought it would be cool to have the photo surrounded by rays of paper. So SUPERSTAR! I love the way the paper rays turned out! The title was done with GCD Studios chipboard and vinyl Thickers. I won the GCD Studios chipboard from Paper Crafts Connection! The paper is Making Memories, and I created a matching journaling circle using my Coluzzle and Nestabilities. I added some gorgeous Primas with Making Memories glitter brads, and I added fantastic velvet Cosmo Cricket ribbon on the bottom of the page. Last . . . I added part of the Rit dye packaging! You can click on the page to see it larger. I just LOVE the way this turned out! Awesome page featuring my most talented girls!!

I hope you have a wonderful day, and thanks for stopping by!

Here's my newest card using the Assorted Bubble Phrases from The Cutting Cafe'! Once again, I used my new stamp set Night Light by October Afternoon. Isn't he cute? Doesn't he look just like the type of monster who would be very honest with his feelings? He's just putting it all out there and telling the recipient, "I Like You!" This card is all Basic Grey. What do you think?

Here are all three cards that I made using the set! They're all Basic Grey, and they're all so FUN! You can click on the images to see them larger! So, let me tell you more about the Assorted Bubble Phrases set! The set contains 40 bubbles of 20 different phrases. PLUS, there are 2 blank bubbles that you can customize yourself. Prima hello card

Before I show you a card, check out the Hero Arts blog! It's their BIG WEEK!! Giveaways galore!

I mentioned yesterday that I participated in some challenges over at Scrapbook News & Review. They had a Spring Into Summer Event. This is the second card that I did for a challenge.

It was based on a sketch, and this challenge was an "Ode to our Sponsors Challenge". One of the sponsors was Prima, so my card is all about Prima. I used five different Prima papers, all of which are from the Sasha Collection. I also added two Prima flowers from the Rock On collection. Such a colorful card!

Scrapping Recipe Challenge #45 and Sketch #14 at 52 Sketches

This is a multi-purpose layout! It's my Scrapping Recipe Challenge #45 at Sketches! {by Tamara}, and it's based on Sketch #14 at 52 Sketches . . . 52 Weeks. PLUS, I got to use my NEW Making Memories Just Chillin' girl papers and glitter die cuts!! I am in LOVE with this paper! This is my new all-time favorite layout!!

The recipe this week was to use the following on our cards or layouts:
  • ribbon
  • patterned paper
  • include an image of something that flies

I used two ribbons from Making Memories. One is Chelsea's Place and the other is Boho Chic. The patterned paper is all Just Chillin'. I just LOVE this paper! (Sorry, I know I already said that!) I also added a couple of glitter die cut butterflies. You can click on the layout to see it larger. The title is glitter chipboard Thickers. You can click on the layout to see it larger. I really do love these faces!!

I am off to chaperone a field trip. It's so cold and rainy today, and yet the forecast is that it might hit 80 by the end of the week. That's Chicagoland weather for you! Crazy! I hope you have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Scrapping Recipe Challenge #40

This is my layout for Scrapping Recipe Challenge #40 at Sketches! {by Tamara}.

This week, our recipe was to use the following on our cards or layouts:
  • stars
  • staples
  • three different patterned papers
Fun recipe! I used brand new glitter Thickers stars and photo corners on this page. I got the Thickers from Cath at Moxie Fab, and they are fabulous! The patterned papers, title block, and die cut flower are from an awesome My Mind's Eye selection that I got at Peachy Cheap. The felt flower and button are Making Memories Noteworthy. This page is ALSO based on Sketch #9 at 52 Sketches! You can click on the page to see it larger.

I can't believe it's been so long since I last blogged! I've just been busy with lots of activities with the girls, the school board battle that I was attempting to fight, and yesterday, I actually did some landscaping work. It was beautiful outside, and today is going to be wonderful too. I have had NO creative time whatsoever! I'm not sure I'll get any today either, but I really hope to spend some time creating tomorrow! I hope you have a wonderful day, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

25 Days Until Christmas 2008

I'm so excited to share with you my 25 Days Until Christmas book! Now, this is an Ali Edwards idea, but I first read about it on my very good blogging friend's blog. Chris made one, I love it, and I decided to do the same. Here is the cover!

I used Basic Grey Blitzen and the entire book uses a lot of Cosmo Cricket Wonderland. The front cover and the back cover and chipboard pieces covered with patterned paper. It's approximately 9 1/4" x 11 1/4". The beautiful blue snowflake paper is Blitzen. The swirl and the strip tease at the bottom are both Wonderland. I stamped that Santa image (one of my all time favorite stamps EVER!) "25" and "Days" are both Thickers. The "until" is chipboard that I just got from Tina, and "Christmas" is Basic Grey letter stickers. I added a Prima Sprite, and it's topped with a crocheted flower that my daughter Emily made for me. Isn't it amazing? I then sewed on a button. I love the cover!

This is the inside front cover and you can see some pages. Jessica created the inside front cover. In the envelope I tucked in scalloped note card that talks about making the book, and I even mention Chris!! The small green sheet is what I used for day 1.

Here is a view of day 1 after I completed it.

Here's a close up of day 1. I just mentioned that we got snow, and on the back of the page, I hand journaled bullet point style about December 1st.

This in the back cover. Emily created this back cover.

So, what do you think? Isn't this an awesome idea! I need bigger clips to hold it together, but I'll run and get those at an office supply store when I get a chance. After I get the bigger circle clips, we'll add ribbon to them. My girls haven't had a chance to help me out with the days yet, but I think they will on the weekends. I will show you day 2 and day 3 later, and I'll probably show you pages throughout December. I'm having a lot of fun with this so far!

It's COLD outside today. The girls, Princess, and I walked to the bus stop in 14 degree weather. Brrrr!! I hope you have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!
