Card Sketch #48

It's Thursday, so there's a new card sketch up on the Sketches! {by Tamara} site. This is my card for Card Sketch #48. I love the sketch this week (then again, I love the sketch every week), and for the first time since being on Tamara's card team, I turned the sketch. I'm thrilled with this card! It's for my Dad! Please be sure to check out what the other card designers created. They are all wonderful! Also, if you work with the sketch, link it back to Tamara's site. You could be her next guest card designer!

In the sketch, the horizontal part at the top of the card look like a negative film strip to me. The minute I saw the sketch, I knew I wanted to use one of the negative film strip frames that I've had for a long time. I love these frames! I inserted small photos of my girls, and for the sentiments, I designed those on the computer. The papers used are all My Mind's Eye from a big slab that I got at Hobby Lobby. I love the My Mind's Eye slabs! I added some American Crafts ribbon, decorative brads, and I did a lot of chalk ink distressing. My dad is going to love this card!

I hope you all have a wonderful day. Such strange weather reports on the news every single day. Tornadoes, flooding, extreme heat . . . it's just awful! I hope you are all doing well and the weather isn't affecting you in a negative way! Take care, and thanks for stopping by!

This is gorgeous. I love it.

I managed to get out of making mine for Patrick this year as both Kids decided they'd like to make their own for daddy. It worked out really well because it meant I could get on with finishing his scrapbook album that he was supposed to get for Father's day last year!!! :-)
