My youngest daughter left this morning on a three-day/two-night 5th grade Outdoor Education trip. I know that she's going to have a great time (my oldest daughter went on this trip last year, and she loved it), but somehow I cannot communicate that fact to my stomach. Ugh! I just dislike the fact that she's going to be gone for two nights, we can't call them while they're gone, and right now Friday at 4 p.m. (the pickup time when they get back) seems so very far away. It's going to be a rough three days for me.
As for something creative today, I am happy to be featuring a guest designer! My oldest daughter Emily made this card. Normally when my girls make cards, they might come up to me a couple of times to ask me if I like something, what do I think, etc. Not this time. Emily made this card completely without asking my opinion on anything, and I was just blown away by the result!
Isn't this amazing? She stamped the border on the bottom, and use colored pencils to add the color. The primitive man stamp is one of the great finds she had at a rubber stamp flea market that we go to. She saw it first, or believe me, that stamp would be mine! I love that stamp! Once again, she used colored pencils. The two flowers, the brads, and the two letters are all from a Queen & Co. embellishment pack that she has. The "celebrate" and "be yourself" epoxy stickers are from her stash. Isn't this fantastic? I am totally impressed! I just LOVE it!
I have to apologize, because I am WAY BEHIND on blog hopping. I probably won't get caught up today either. I will be around soon, and I will be admiring all of the wonderful things that you have all created. Have a wonderful day, and thanks for stopping by!
P.S. Is it Friday at 4 p.m. yet? No? Just checking!

Friday will be here before you know it! I don't even want to think about Aaron being old enough to go away during the day for kindergarten, let alone overnight!! I'm sure she is going to have a great time though! Emily's card is gorgeous! Your entire family is so very talented. She has excellent taste too!
I have been there, know exactly how you feel! To cheer you up I will tell you what happened when my daughter went away the first time. Because she had grown so much she ended up having to use my Wellies (my lovely pride and joy Hunters which I had for 20 years)anyway, when she came back they were not the size 6 she took but size 4. they had left them in the drying room and she said they were the only ones left when she went for them, she said, "I think they shrunk with the wet!" I didn't know whether to laugh or cry!
Love Emily's card, isn't she a star?
She'll have so much fun! I'm so sorry that you are worried. This is such a fun and unique card. It's very eclectic. TFS!
You have a fantstic guest designer today, wonderful card, you have a very talented daughter.
Oh I remember the first time Josh went away with school, that was only over night but I don't think I moved more than 2 inches away from the phone at any time while he was gone just in case. She'll be back before you know it Carol and she'll have had a great time. Just keep busy and Friday will fly round!

What a great card your daughter made. Oh I too remember when I sent my son off to camp for the first time. I worried and fretted, didn't sleep, cried, and he was having the time of his life. It's memories he will never forget. Your daughter will have a whole cache of wonderful memories of this time.
Fabulous card Emily, I love the colours you have chosen

Oh my gosh I know what you mean!! My daughter was away for two weeks up north camping and ugh! I couldn't get ahold of her either.....and, well......I'll tell you the rest AFTER Friday!! Turned out good...!!
first, thanks for the amazing advice i really needed it.
second you have a lovely talent!!
=D
She'll be fine Mom! Kayla went away for a whole week last summer to horse camp....we could not talk to them either so when I took her there I pulled her camp counselor aside and handed her six letters from dad and me to give to Kayla everyday at mail call (they could get mail!) I also got letters from her. It IS hard when they go away though.....Okay, so your guest designer does BEAUTIFUL work and should be recognized for her cardmaking abilities - too cute! *STAMPIN HUGS* Alex
