I created some cards this week for challenges on the Unity forum at SplitCoast Stampers.
The first challenge was to create a bird or tree card using Unity stamps. Well, I have a lot of Unity stamps, but most of them are for journaling or scrapbooking, and shockingly enough, I didn't have ANY birds or trees except for this penguin! He's actually from a winter set, but I made him a beachy penguin! Isn't he cute!?! The paper is My Mind's Eye.
The next card is based on a sketch, and there was a twist to use ribbon and three buttons. Once again, I used My Mind's Eye papers. I love the two flower buttons that I used, and I always love ric rac! I added some rhinestones too.
The last one is also based on an awesome sketch. Since Unity just came out with Cosmo Cricket stamps, I used Cosmo Cricket Material Girl paper on my card! I did a lot of sewing. I love the way this turned out!
I hope you're having a great day! Happy Friday! Do you have plans for National Scrapbooking Day? I cannot wait to scrapbook all day long (hopefully!) Have a great day and a fantastic weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

My Girls
I created this layout based on the challenge posted by Chris over at Inspired Crafters. She posted an awesome Studio Calico sketch. I used Basic Grey papers that I won from Scrap and Stamp a long time ago! I used some of the AWESOME Jillibean Soup corrugated letters for part of my title. Anyway, I just snapped this pic of my girls, and I love it! So, I decided to create a page about what my girls mean to me. I love the way this turned out!
I hope you're having a great day! As always, thanks for stopping by!

Downtown Disney
I created this page based on a Julie Bonner sketch that my friend Chris used as inspiration over at Inspired Crafters. If you check out the sketch that was posted, you can see that I used MUCH larger photos on my layout, but I still like the way it turned out! These are four photos from Downtown Disney. We went there in the evening, and it was such a cool place! I used orange dotted and black dotted paper from Making Memories. I used Thickers and Cosmo Cricket tiny type for my title, and I added some sewing. I punched a couple of border strips, and I punched the flowers with two Martha Stewart punches that my friend Chris sent to me! This is a simple page, and I like it!
I hope you're having a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Emily and Elmo
Sketchy Thursdays posted an awesome Second Chance Challenge Sketch for some amazing Lawn Fawn stamps, and I just had to create a layout based on the sketch! This is my Emily with her Elmo way back in March of 1997! Emily was ten months old on her first Christmas in 1996, and my mother in law got her a Tickle Me Elmo. This was the Christmas when you COULD NOT find the Tickle Me Elmo in stores. My mother in law bought it before all of the craziness set in, and she didn't become aware of how popular it was until someone offered to buy it off of her before Christmas! Anyway, she refused, she gave it to Emily on her first Christmas, and Tickle Me Elmo (with the tickle sound box removed!) quickly became Emily's stuffed toy that she always had with her! In fact, when I gave birth to Jessica in July of 1997, Emily and Elmo came to the hospital to see me! The doctor even put a small surgical gown on Elmo! Anyway, this photo is precious to me, and it brings back so many memories of my sweet girl and her Elmo! This sweet girl is now 14 years old, and YES, she still has her Elmo! ♥
So, I used a beautiful sheet of Prima paper for the background. How could I resist that red and orange color combination for this page!?! The orange dotted is by Making Memories. I added a little Elmo stamp on a My Mind's Eye journaling card. The other Elmo detail cut is from a sheet of paper from a pad that was in the dollar section of Target. It's perfect on this page! I used Thickers, Cosmo Cricket tiny type, and Jenni Bowlin alphas to create the title, and I sewed on a few buttons. I love the way this turned out, and I know Emily's going to love it too! Be sure to visit Sketchy Thursdays to see the fantastic sketch!
Happy Friday! I hope you have a GREAT weekend, and as always, thanks for stopping by!

5 Things
My awesome blogging friend Chris gave me a gift certificate to use to Papertrey Ink for my birthday! I made a purchase, and then I used my new items to make her a thank you card! This card features one of the stamp sets that I bought, Top Ten. Chris is genuine, kind, very funny, so thoughtful, and extremely generous! I really like the way this turned out, and Chris liked her card too!
I hope you have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Cherry Slurpees
My most amazing, wonderful, and awesome blogging friend Chris is taking over the April challenges at Inspired Crafters. She posted a great Sketchy Thursdays sketch for this week. I love their sketches, so I just had to do a layout for it! I'm featuring a photo that I really love! It's Jessica, Emily, and I drinking our big 44 oz. cherry slurpees! A couple times a year, Dave takes the girls to get slurpees. He was out of town on business one week in the summer, and when the girls and I went to get gas in the van, Jessica noticed that slurpees were on special at Speedway! So, she convinced me that we had to get them, and when we got home, we snapped a pic of us drinking them, and we emailed the photo to Dave. He was very disappointed that we went to get slurpees without him! I blamed Jessica, because it truly was all her fault! Anyway, I used my new Cosmo Cricket kit that I got from HSN. I added a cherry brad (I got a package of these as blog candy a long time ago, and I was convinced that I would NEVER use them!), a Jenni Bowlin journaling spot, some Jenni Bowlin round alphas, a Making Memories felt flower, and a button and twine from Papertrey Ink. I also did a lot of ink distressing and sewing! I love the way this turned out! ♥
I hope you had a great week! Enjoy your weekend, and thanks for stopping by!

Fashion Diva
This is my sweet Emily when she was little! Isn't she fabulous!? I used the April kit from Scrapbook Kit Club. I cannot emphasize enough how much I love that kit! I also used a sketch that is posted on the Scrapbook Kit Club forum. This page is also for a challenge at Scrap-Friendzy to use a frame around a photo. I used a My Mind's Eye transparency frame. This page is also for another challenge at Memorable Seasons to do something to the edge of your layout. The example given was using a Cuttlebug embossing folder and the QuicKutz squeeze. That's exactly what I did, and I love the effect! I'll be using that technique again! Last, this page is for Challenge #1 at The Color Room. This page has lots of Dear Lizzy by American Crafts, and I did a lot of sewing on the page. I just LOVE the way it turned out! Oh yeah, the beautiful crocheted flower? Emily made that for me, and it's fabulous!! Hard to believe this little girl in the photograph is now 14 years old! ♥
I hope you're having a great day! Thanks for stopping by!
