Card Sketch #39

It's Thursday, and that's card sketch day at the Sketches! {by Tamara} site. This is what I created for Card Sketch #39. Remember if you use the sketch, link it back to Tamara's site in the comment section, and YOU could become the next guest designer!

I used GORGEOUS Scenic Paper Route double-sided paper that I recently got from a prize package that I won from Wendy Johnson at Paper Crafts magazine. She sent me some AMAZING goodies. I'm shocked that I actually cut into this paper. It's one of those sheets that I really love, and usually that means that I'll end up hoarding it for quite some time. You can see both sides of it on the card. Isn't it fantastic? I also used some gorgeous twill ribbon that I received from my very good blogging friend Jana, and the chipboard piece I just received from Wendy at ScrapCity. I painted the chipboard swirl black. The flowers are Primas, and the button is from my stash. I used the black paint to highlight the large flower and to distress the edges of the three cardstock pieces that were used on the card front. I LOVE the way this card turned out!

A few people told me that they wanted to see my new do, so here it is. It's the same hair, just shorter. Plus, I really needed a highlight. My hair was VERY dark on top, and it looked awful. I'm feeling a little more human today! I can't believe I'm actually posting a photo. I'm crazy I think! It's cold, rainy, and so very gloomy again today. It's supposed to rain all day long. In fact, we're supposed to get thunderstorms. I'm off to the local library to help set up the used book sale that they're having on Saturday. The ladies that run the book sale always call me to help, and they're all so sweet that I never want to say no. Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

I love the card and I LOVE your new do. I think it looks great on you.

It's suppose to rain all day here too.. flood fash warning and all that. As long as there's no tornado, I'm ok with whatever goes on :D

I love the colors on the card and the chipboard! Very pretty! I also love your new do. Getting my hair done always makes me feel better but I still have two more weeks before my appt:-( - my girl moved to another location again- I have been following her all over town for years!

Have fun at the library and be safe with the storms coming through!

That paper is so scrummy Carol. Love the card.

Very nice hair cut, mine needs doing but I really don't like going to the hair dressers. I'd rather go to the dentist and have fillings than get my hair done but I hate my hair once it gets past a certain length too. It's a shame our heads aren't like those Girls World's Heads or I think there may be a Barbie one now? You can style the hair and it will stay like that but when you get fed up with it that length you can make it longer or shorter by turning something on the side of it's head. How handy would that be eh?! :-) I think I may be onto something here!!
