Check this out!!
I chatted with Andrea via email after she featured my SBS2 sister, Lori last week. She's always looking for crafters to feature on her site. I told her that I would be honored to be featured if she wanted to take a look at my blog and creations. She did take a look, and she told me she would feature me right away! I'm totally honored! You should see some of the AMAZING crafters she has featured in the past! Wow! I feel like I have just been inducted into some kind of crafting Hall of Fame! Thanks Andi! I'm thrilled!! If you stop by to see my feature, please leave a comment on Andi's site!

Sketches {by Tamara} Card Sketch #33
I used a DCWV Glitter Mat Stack for the card front. I matted it and ticket punched it. I added Making Memories flower brads to the ticket punched corners. The "friends" and "forever" are ScrapWorks fabric tabs, and I attached them to American Craft ribbon. The Prima flower stack has a vintage button in the center. Thanks for the cool button Jana!
Busy day today. I'm going to see Jessica in a matinee performance of the 5th grade Talent Show. She is an actor in the show. This matinee is for the rest of the school to see the Talent Show, but I have to crash this performance. The talent show is at 7 p.m. this evening, but I cannot go to it, because it's also the exact same time as Emily's induction into the National Junior Honor Society. Both schools are in the same school district, and I have no idea why they would schedule singular events at the very same time. I shouldn't have to choose WHICH event I want to attend. I should be able to attend both! Thank goodness for the matinee today, because it made my frustration a little easier to deal with!

Bunny Easter Card - Sketch Challenge
I struggled with this card at first, because the sketch seems to be for a square card, but I wanted to make sure I could fit it in an envelope, so I created it in my usual 4.25" x 5.5" size. The harlequin patterned paper is from a DCWV glitter mat stack. The blue layer is featuring another NEW Cuttlebug large embossing folder. This one is harlequin. I stamped a bunny stamp that I've had for a long time, and I used colored pencils and gamsol on it. I actually shaded the bunny a little, and I'm pretty happy with the way the shading turned out! I added one small Prima with a brad.

Bella Rocks & More HAPPY Mail!
My SBS2 Secret Sister sent me Bella stamped images, and this one is just the coolest! Look at Bella with her guitar. She really ROCKS! I'm loving this new embossing folder. It's called allegro. Both of my girls are very musical, so this folder was a MUST for me. The ribbon is fantastic, and I think I got it at Hobby Lobby. The "you rock" is Karen Foster snap stamps. I colored the image with pencils and used gamsol. I'm very happy with the way this card turned out!
I'm happy to say that I finally know WHO sent me the wonderful Bella images! I received my SBS2 "reveal" package yesterday. My secret sister is Inking Aloud's, Lori T. Lori is so talented, and it's always so much fun to visit her blog, because all of her creations are such eye candy! We're also both on Tamara's Sketches! card design team. Very cool! I had NO CLUE that Lori was my secret sister, and she was an awesome secret sister. This is the card that I received with my reveal package. I love the red and turquoise. It's such a pretty card!
Lori also sent me an altered notepad and pen. Isn't this fantastic? I love it! Such a pretty color, and the stamping is perfect!
Look at these monogram sticky notes! So cool, all different colors, and I love the dots! Such happy sticky notes! They're sitting here right on my desk!
She also sent me lots of packages of BLING! Love it all, and I will use it all, because I just love bling! Such pretty rhinestones! Plus, look at the jumbo altered paper clip! Gorgeous! The red and brown is so striking!
The altered paper clip is worth a second look. It's so pretty! I love it! I love it ALL! Thank you so much Lori! You were just an awesome secret sister! I am one of the luckiest bloggers that I know! I have "met" such amazing women, and you're all so wonderful, generous, and kind! Thank you!
Well, if you saw my 10 p.m. post and photo from last night (below), you will know that I'm a little bit crabby today, because we got more snow! It's heavy and wet, and I need to go outside to finish shoveling it. I did a little bit of it already, and I'm tired! Ugh! Yuck! I guess all of this will just make me appreciate spring so much more when it finally arrives! Have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by!

Oh no, look at what it's doing outside!
Happy Mail & Busy Week!
My wonderful and creative blogging friend Marlou sent this gorgeous card for Princess! Marlou loves dogs, and she sent this beautiful card creation to my silly Princess. Isn't it fabulous?
As you can see, Princess is quite happy with her mail! I think she's starting to think that she has a "fan club"!
Plus, Marlou sent me wonderful blog candy goodies from her Valentine card challenge. I love it all, and I can't wait to use some of these embellishments! The sheer ribbon with the hearts on it is the same ribbon that Marlou used on her wedding invitations! It's gorgeous!
Last, I have to show you my new refrigerator magnet. I got this at a Hallmark store. Isn't this GREAT? Words to live by! Very funny to me! I told my girls that they should try to look at it every single day! Yesterday my youngest came up to me when I was at my computer, and she said, "Mom is there anything that I can do for YOU?" It was hysterical!! She said it because she had just walked past the magnet! My girls have a great sense of humor!
We have a hectic week ahead of us. Lots of stuff going on for my girls. I hope to squeeze in some crafting time! Thanks for stopping by!

Number Collage Birthday Card
I embossed turquoise and then a small red piece, and I overlapped them. I added red Stickles to the two numbers that I was emphasizing. I ticket punched the card front, added Stickles to the four corners, and added a ribbon around the card front. The "happy birthday" is from a Stampin' Up set, I added a small red marker border around it, and I mounted it on top of a large Prima Sprite. I wasn't too sure about this card when I finished with it, but the longer I looked at it, the more I liked it. What do you think?
Thank you for all of the birthday wishes for Emily yesterday! She enjoyed reading them all! We had a wonderful day yesterday full with shopping, lots of laughing, and a whole bunch of celebrating. This photo of Jessica and Emily was taken when we went out for Emily's birthday dinner at a local pizza parlor. Dinner was delicious!
Everything in this house is about Princess, or so she seems to think, so she had to pose for a photo with the birthday girl! She's such a silly dog, but we all love her!
Here Emily is showing off her birthday brownies after blowing out the candles. She loves brownies with frosting on them, so that's what Jessica and I made for her. Jessica frosted them! I added the "fancy" writing on the brownies. They were pretty delicious!
What a GREAT day yesterday for all of us! Emily had a fantastic 12th birthday! I'm way behind on blog hopping, but I'll be catching up with all of you soon! Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

First Bella Card!
I'm also showing you ANOTHER NEW Cuttlebug large embossing folder! This is the paisley, and I love it! I colored Bella with colored pencils and used gamsol. I added a Prima Sprite, a beautiful Making Memories brad, some Michael's ribbon, and I was done. I can't wait to use more of the Bella images that I got, because they're all fantastic! Thank you SBS2 secret sister!
I have lots of errands to run today, so I'll catch up with all of you either later today or later in the weekend. Thanks for stopping by!!

Celebrate! - Sketches! Card
I used another NEW Cuttlebug large embossing folder. This one is swiss dots. I love it! The patterned paper is from a Provo Craft Slab. The "happy birthday" dimensional border sticker and the "&" dimensional circle that I used for the center of the Prima are Christina Cole cardstock stickers from Provo Craft. The "celebrate" is a Stampin' Up stamp, and I added four rhinestones to the corners of the sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by!

Bird Card
The bird stamp is from a Stampin' Up set, and I don't think I've ever used it before, but wow, is it PERFECT on this card! I love it! I colored the bird with colored pencils and used gamsol. I added a Prima with a button, some twill, and three brads. I'm really pleased with this card! It's subtle and I love all the natural colors.
It's so COLD again! This winter is exhausting! I just wish it would warm up a little! Thanks for stopping by!!

CHA - Do you get excited about NEW products?
I'm such a Love, Elsie fan. I think her designs are cute and whimsical. Look at these new soft charms that will be coming out soon. This line is called Daisy. Are these the cutest or what? I'm going to HAVE TO have these! This buying stuff is a sickness, I tell you, a sickness! I've been checking out Craft Critique quite a bit lately. Would that be a cool job or what? How fun would it be to report on new crafting items?
No crafting yesterday. I was hanging out with my girls. We were trying to stay warm. It's been unbelievably cold the last couple of days, and it's going to continue for a couple more days. I'm so ready for winter to be OVER! I'm going to make a couple cards this morning (hopefully). Thanks for stopping by!

Princess "cookie" jar!
This dog paper I got a while ago is PERFECT, mostly because it actually says "Princess" on the paper itself. I left the paper as is, because I love the design, and I added just a little bit of pink Stickles to a paw print and a crown on the paper. I tied some cute pink paw print ribbon around the jar.
Here's the lid. I used my Coluzzle to cut the circle. We call Princess's treats "cookies", and you should see her ears perk up when we say "cookies"!! So, these are her "good girl cookies". I added some paw print glitter stickers, a cute dog stamp, and a Prima Sprite stack that's secured with a paw print brad. Now this jar is worthy of a Princess, don't you think?
My girls are off for Presidents' Day today, so we'll be hanging out. Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for the Award!
I met a Cricut message board friend at our local Archiver's yesterday. She had noticed that I was from Illinois, so she sent me a message, asked me where I lived, and it turns out that we're only about 15 minutes away from each other. I got to meet her and her cute daughter. It was really great to meet Kim. Maybe when it warms up a little, we'll go shopping somewhere else!
I'm totally behind on blog hopping again. I'll catch up with all of you later this weekend. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

Valentine Altered Items
I added some fun ribbon to the handles, and I added an office clip that says "be mine" to the rim of each bucket. I used Mr. Big Bite to punch a hole and set the heart eyelet for the Prima Sprite stack. I added some candy to both of these for my girls. They loved them!
Not too long ago, I was at my sister-in-law's house, and she had Frappuccino bottles in her fridge. I got all excited, because I wanted a couple of those bottles! She thought I was crazy! Anyway, I've seen tons of these altered on various sites, and I finally got a chance to do a couple! What a great size bottle!
Here's the top of the bottles. I used my Coluzzle to cut the circles. How cute are these? I filled them with Hershey's Hugs.
I hope you had a nice Valentine's Day! Thanks for stopping by!

LOVE - Happy Valentine's Day!
This is a BIG card. It's 8.5" x 5.5". The "love" is a Lil Davis chipboard piece that I've had for a long time. It was distressed in a wood tone around the edges, so I covered that with a black Slick Writer. I added rhinestones to the letters. The heart is a Heidi Swapp ghost shape, and I attached it with brads. The ribbon is from Michael's, and it has two brads on it. The swirl is an Autumn Leaves stamp. I added some rhinestones to the stamped image. This is my husband's Valentine. I hope he likes it!
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I hope you have a GREAT day! Thanks for stopping by!

Baby Love!
I used my NEW Tres Jolie papers that I got from QVC. The "baby" title, the plaid paper, and the cardstock scallop border sticker on the bottom of the card front are all My Mind's Eye Tres Jolie. The "welcome little one" is a stamp from Riveting by Stampin' Up. I just got this stamp set from my friend Jana! I used my Coluzzle to cut the circle, and I mounted it on a Cuttlebug ribbon slider. The ribbons are from Michael's. I pulled out some alphabet beads, and I added "Brayden" on a piece of wire, and I sewed it to the card front. I used four new buttons that I just got from Laurie! One of them is on a new Prima (also from QVC). I added a little safety pin to the blue ribbon knot. I just LOVE the way this card turned out! It's for my husband's cousin. Her and her husband are expecting their first baby, and their shower is at the beginning of March. They know they're having a boy, they're naming him Brayden, and they are so excited! We're excited for them!

Thank you!
She bagged up some old buttons, and she asked who wanted some buttons . . . ME! I love buttons! Laurie sent me this amazing assortment of buttons! What fun! Look at the envelope that they're sitting on. She handpainted the envelope! Isn't that envelope gorgeous? She is an amazing artist. You should see her vintage felt bird creations that she makes. Laurie also posts the funniest photos of her cute cats! Thanks so much Laurie! Your kindness is very much appreciated!
I had more snow to shovel this morning. Wow, I'm getting tired of this snow and how cold it's been! I'm very anxious for Spring! I need to make a baby shower card for my husband's cousin, so off I go to do just that. I'm thrilled, because it fits in with the Caardvarks baby card challenge this week! Hopefully I'm going to use some buttons! Thanks for stopping by!

Eat Dessert First!
This is for Nicola's Sketch #4. I've never made a tent topper card before, so I wasn't really sure of sizes, etc., but this turned out just fine. I wanted it to fit into an envelope, so I used that as my size guideline. The card itself is a 4 1/4" square with rounded corners. The square scallop was cut using Mini Monograms. I used colored pencils and gamsol for the coloring, and I added a couple of Primas with a rhinestone. The card front is DCWV Pocket Full of Posies.
Here are my girls after the music competition on Saturday. They're proudly wearing their medals! Them both wearing striped sweaters was an accident . . . they normally don't dress alike!! I was really proud of them! Then again, I'm always proud of them!
Thanks for stopping by!

Guest Designers Today! Personalized Plaques!
This is what the plaque looked like before we started. The wire hanger with the beads is fantastic!
Then a few weeks ago, we stopped in Archiver's, and my girls just fell in love with these Love, Elsie Zoe soft charms. They're cute, colorful, and whimsical. We decided that we would let the charms inspire the plaque design!
Isn't this FANTASTIC?!! After choosing her charm, Jessica picked out her background sheet of paper. This is from a My Mind's Eye slab of paper. She then picked out scraps of paper for me to cut out her name using my QuicKutz squeeze. She said that she's silly, so we used an Autumn Leaves circular sentiment to emphasize that fact. I cut the sentiment and the mat out with my Coluzzle. She selected her Primas, and they were layered on in two places. I sewed the one flower stack with the button on the wire hanger. Her last selection was a little bit of ribbon. WOW! I'm seriously impressed with how GREAT this looks!
This one is completely GORGEOUS and totally different from what Jessica made! Emily started off picking a sheet of My Mind's Eye slab paper too. She wanted to emphasize all of the colors that are on the "CREATE" soft charm. She used paper scraps too, and I cut her name out with a different QuicKutz alphabet. She added some orange mulberry under her matted name. She had me detail cut a big lime green flower out of the background paper, but then she thought it was too big for the plaque. I suggested cutting it in half and using it as a scallop design hanging off the bottom. She loved that idea, and when it didn't go across the entire bottom, I detail cut one more flower, and we filled in the middle section. Doesn't it look GREAT? Once again, she selected her Primas for layered stacks, and she picked out three ribbons that she liked. She finished it up by adding rhinestones on the patterned paper and on the scallop flower bottom edge. FANTASTIC!
I'm totally impressed with these! You should click on the photos, and look at the enlarged views! They're just so colorful and FUN!! I helped my girls quite a bit with the mechanics: the cutting, the gluing (because I'm an ATG gun hog!), and the ribbon tying, but the design of these is all them! They have a great eye for color, and they give a lot of thought to the placement of each element! I'm so proud of them, because these are AMAZING!
I'll post a photo tomorrow of my girls after the musical competition. Thanks for the good luck wishes for them, and for the happy birthday wishes for my mom! The girls did great! Emily performed twice (singing and flute), and she got two first place awards, and Jessica performed once (french horn), and she also got a first place award! They were fantastic, and so were their girlfriends that they partnered up with. I'm impressed with their musical talent, because my husband and I have none! It's a COLD one today, and wow, is it WINDY!! The wind was howling all night long! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Mom!
I want to mention that I'm way behind on blog hopping for all of my blog friends and for my SBS2 sisters. I'll catch up with all of that later today and tomorrow.
I just have to share this link for our local newspaper. Princess is the Pet of the Week! Wow, as I just typed that, I realized that it sounds like a Hugh Hefner Playboy kind of thing! Nope, she's a different kind of pet!! We're going to be campaigning to get her to be Pet of the Month for February, and then our ultimate goal is for her to be Pet of the Year! Why? Because it's fun, and we love her! We think she's worthy!
Last, both Wendy and Patsy tagged me for the middle name game. Let me give this a try! My middle name is Joan.
J - Joyful, Jovial (makes me sound like Santa!)
O - Outgoing, Outspoken, Optimistic
A - Appreciative, Ambitious
N - Nice, Noticeable
My girls helped me with my words! Since my middle name has four letters, I need to tag 4 others to post their middle name on their blog, and they need to use all of the letters to describe their personality. You must list one fact about yourself beginning with each letter of your middle name. (If you don't have a middle name, use your maiden name). Make sense? So, I'm going to tag: Alex, Jules, Kristy, and Nicola.
Last, but not least, WOW, did I get the goodies from the big brown truck yesterday! My QVC TSV came. It's a wonderful Cosmo Cricket package. I hope to dig in today and play with it! It's gorgeous! Then, I got My Mind's Eye Tres Jolie . . . beautiful! Last, I got Lisa Bearnson's Bling It On kit. It's nice too, and it comes in a storage tin. I LOVE when things come in their own organizational container! I hope to PLAY later today and tomorrow! It's like Christmas all over again over here. I really need to stop buying, but the QVC values make me crazy. You get SO MUCH for the money. The Cosmo Cricket was $30 something plus shipping. I'm not sure you could go in a scrapbook store and get the two 8x8 albums with the storage sleeve box for $30, and that's only one small part of the kit! Yes, I'm justifying my purchases, but I just can't help it!
Thanks for stopping by! I'll be by to visit you all very soon! Have a great weekend!!

Sketches {by Tamara} Card Sketch #30
I pulled a sheet of paper from my Glitter Mat Stack for my card front, and I let it inspire me on how I created this card. I really wanted to emphasize the blue and orange. The "you rock" and the three stars are stamps from Love, Elsie Roxie. The ribbon is American Crafts. This is a simple card, but I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. I struggle with masculine cards most of the time, and when I was done with this one, I realized that it would be great for anyone.
My girls are home from school today, because it's parent/teacher conferences at school. My girls are doing very well in school, so we don't need to go see any teachers. We'll be relaxing and hanging out. Maybe we'll craft a little! Maybe I'll have some guest designers featured on my blog tomorrow or on Sunday! Thanks for stopping by!
I just visited Lisa Bearnson's blog. Take a look at her most recent post. She put out a plea for stickers for a young man that she met. My girls and I just totally cleared out our PSB (Paper Sticker Binder) and we're going to send A LOT of stickers to Brian today. We hardly ever use stickers anymore, so we're thrilled to send them all to him! We're off to the post office!

Rock Star
I made this card for my girlfriend Kathy's son. He just started guitar lessons, so I'm going to send this to her so that she can give it to him. He's blond, and he has a black guitar, so I tried to personalize it a little with my coloring. I used colored pencils and gamsol. I even used pretty paper! I used Basic Grey Skate Shoppe paper for my card front. The extra guitar stamp is from ki Memories. The "you rock" stamp is Love, Elsie Roxie. I even broke out the Tim Holtz texture hammer, and I smashed my brads! Look at me . . . using stuff! Woohoo! By the way, did you notice that I drew the mouth on the image? Some of these images don't have mouths, and I wanted him to have a mouth. Does it look OK?
Thanks for stopping by!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CONNOR & Happy Mail!
Next, I got more HAPPY MAIL! This gorgeous Bella card came from my SBS2 Secret Sister. Isn't it gorgeous! I'm telling you, the colors are perfect, because I'm SO READY for Spring! Right now, I would settle for seeing the sun! I have no idea WHO my Secret Sister is, but she knows I don't have any Bellas, because look what she sent to me with this gorgeous card . . . .
. . . Bella images for me to color and play around with! How fun! I'm so excited! I love Bella, and I have yet to make a Bella purchase! Yeah! Thank you so much! This was the perfect little extra to send with my card . . . I'm thrilled!!
This is my prize from Brandy at the Paper Crafts Blog! Can you believe this? Once again, PERFECT, because it's so colorful, vibrant, and spring-like! I'm going to force myself to cut this paper. It's honestly one of the packs that I'm going to have a problem using, because I hoard my pretty paper. I know you know what I'm talking about. If I actually cut it and use it, I won't have it anymore! However, within the next week or two, I'm going to force myself to create something with at least one sheet of this paper! Well, I'll try!
Last, I was waitlisted for this huge selection of brads from QVC, and I completely forgot about them, and they showed up on the craft fair day! How cool, I was ordering items, and then the big brown truck stops by my house, brings a package to my door, and it was like instant gratification with a QVC product! My friend Queen Diva Sue tells me that when you're waitlisted for an item on QVC, it's not really a purchase, it's more like a gift! I don't quite agree, but I like the way she thinks!
Thanks for stopping by!!

Hanna - But I Need It . . .
This is a theme card for me yesterday with the QVC craft day! Except, I know that I don't need it, I just WANT it! Once again, I let a DCWV Glitter Mat Stack inspire my card. I used gamsol and colored pencils to color Hanna. I used my Coluzzle to cut the circles. I added a flower gem to one shopping bag, and three gems off to the side, because Hanna needs a little bling!
We have more bad weather heading our way. More snow . . . yuck! Thanks for stopping by!

Beatriz's / Caardvarks' Card Challenge
The card front is glittered Cloud 9, and it's ticket punched. The glitter chipboard pieces are from ScrapWorks. The flowers are from Beatriz herself, and there is a glitter chipboard heart in the center. The gingham ribbon is from Michael's. I have three Making Memories buttons on the card . . . two are on the ribbon, and one is camouflaged on the patterned paper on the upper right. This was a fun card to make. Great challenge!
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Mail
Next, Elaine gave away this Rock Star Sugar Nellie stamp, and I was the lucky recipient! Thanks Elaine! I hope to get this little Rock Star boy inked up this week!
Look at the gorgeous card Elaine sent too! I love this image, and the bling is perfect!
Then, Elaine also sent some images for me to play around with. These are all Magnolia images. These will be fun for me to color in and create some cards. Thanks so much Elaine! I'm very appreciative of your kindness!
My husband FINALLY made it home from Florida, and believe it or not, last night his flight was delayed around two hours! Crazy! He is home though! Yeah! The Super Bowl is tonight, and I could care less who wins. I do like seeing some of the commercials. I'm excited, because tomorrow is QVC craft day all day long! I've already preordered the Today's Special Value on auto-delivery! It's a huge Cosmo Cricket kit. I love craft day, and I can't wait to see all the new goodies! Have a great Sunday, and thanks for stopping by!
